Yeah, read that somewhere too. Still surprising because he did Songs of Conquest almost immediately when it got released. Though I hope he reviews HoMM 6 and 7 at some point.

As someone who owned the game for a while now and played it, your post is accurate. It's quite barebones in terms of content but the premise of solving crimes is really good in it. The game is still in early access and has plans on adding more content. Maybe making this video on it was too early.

I have 40 hours in the game and yeah. He hit all the major notes I would have. Should have added that one of the augmentations can make you a manlet or gigachad.
It's a compelling game when you're thinking about how you're going to solve a side job when given only a shoe size and blood type, but the end result isn't that interesting.
I had a case where victim noted they were being followed by a short, fat, bald male. Get footage of somebody matching that near the crime scene. Turns out that suspect was non-binary, so not the murderer. How am I supposed to know that through a security camera?

It's really bizzare, you can tell through the localization comments included in the game files that midway through development the dev suddenly went on a crusade to remove all gendered language from his game, not long after adding in non-binary as something that gets put down on your birth certificate.
Needless to say the current state of it is mildly butchered from a technical standpoint because of this, and the constant theys really wear down on you after a while.

Shadows of Doubt is a pretty fun game. Pirate it or nab it on sale, had quite a lot of fun with it. Still pretty early access and you can 'solve' the game like Sseth mentioned in the video; but still a lot of fun until that point.
