I'm being serious. Go look in the pooner zoo, you'll find a buncha messed up women showing off their flayed legs. They have to cover that arm with skin from somewhere so generally they take a partial thickness graft off the thigh. I've also seen them take it off the back in at least one case, though.

...I've thought they harvest the material for the rotdog either from the arm or the leg, not that they take it from the arm and then take a chunk of the leg to cover the arm... is it always done like that?

I've seen pooners with both arm and thigh flayed but I've thought they only do it when the first attempt fails so they need more material to work with...

Any surgeon that actively advertises like this, especially to children, is not only in it solely for the money but also posing as a safe figure like the witch in Hansel and Gretel. It doesn’t seem routine IIRC, seems to be done if a) surgeons decide during surgery that they need to do it (victims patients probably have to sign a “we can do whatevs on the fly” waiver prior to surgery) or b) OG limb ain’t healing well enough after surgery so they need healthier? Hardier? Tissue. Not a medfag but maybe scenario a) involves better arteries/veins to keep the limb from outright dying?

Apologies for getting that wrong, I really thought they picked one or the other for girth, hair, potential sensation, and then switched it up if an artery wasn’t sufficient or other donor tissue failed to take, The fact that they’re putting 3 limbs at risk for a subpar product at best is baffling.

Johanson Staged Urethroplasty or “Hot Dog in a Bun.” It’s not an easy stage for me so go easy, never seen this posted before so wanted to share

My team at NYU uses this method for ALT patients so that a single tube method for UL could be done instead of a tube in a tube which would also increase girth.

9 months post op Stage 1 (phallus creation)

2 Months post op Stage 2 (Scrotoplasty, Vaginectomy and start of UL)

Next stage will be completion of UL, debulking and glansplasty

From my understanding some people get artificial / grown skin grafts to cover their arm, while others get skin grafts from their own body for whatever reason. Surgeon preference maybe?

Am I wrong?

To make the rotdog, they need a thick roll of flesh and to keep it supplied with blood. It can't just be a few layers of skin. So they cut deeper and carve more out, taking every available layer of flesh down to muscle ("full thickness"). These are the wounds they make on the lower arm.

That kind of wound is deep and takes a long time to heal. The wound is so bad that a skin graft is necessary. And so they take a "partial thickness" graft- just the first few layers of skin- from the leg (or back) to cover the major wound on the arm.

Since the skin peeled off the leg or back is only the first few layers, it does not need a graft to heal.

The reason they take the first, big chunk of flesh off the lower arm is because such a wound will likely have life-long consequences, and it's better to lose partial use of an arm than of a leg.
They don't take the flesh out of anywhere else because if major infection sets in you can cut off an arm. If loss of sensation, range of motion, strength, or dexterity occur (all probable to some extent) then it will be less devastating if it happens to an arm than if it happens to a leg.
