📚 Megathread SRS and GRS surgeons and associated horrors - the medical community of experimental surgeons, the secret community of home butchers

I recently got redirected to this website on sharing a bit of research I did, and while I'll be doing my best to catch up (after starting at page 1 of this thread), I wanted to share my findings already.
Essentially, I came upon the post of a TIF who mentioned her sausage, which is grafted from a leg, makes her feel like she's touching the graft site when she touches this fake dick. This got me thinking - and while I can't find anything useful (or genuine) in regards to arm- and legcocks TIFs get sewn on, I did find a very similar situation in toe-to-thumb transfers. It's a bit of a read, but it all boils down to the body recognising part from a graft site as still being connected to that site. Essentially - their fake dicks don't just look like a piece of an arm or a leg, but the TIF experiences them as being part of it.

Apologies if this train of thought has been posted before, but if not - I hope it's useful.

My hypothesis and answers I found, with sources listed at the end, and screencaps of text in source throughout:

Check out this attempt at nips.

Everyone said I’d regret this and I scared that I a little bit do.
Wow, sounds like everyone gave you really good advice and had your best interests at heart. Maybe go thank them profusely for caring enough to tell you the truth and ask them for advice about what to do now instead of Redditors who incorrectly told you that you wouldn't regret it.

Yeah this is definitely true. I've come across a few TiFs that have said they feel a sensation in their thigh when touching their phallus. Seems to be more common in ALT phalloplasty over RFF.

u/aidenjosiahhh is an example.

I have regained some sensation in the left side of shaft, however the sensation is felt in my right inner thigh???
So I am starting to regain sensation in my shaft. The right side of it I can feel regaining sensation as normal. However, the weird thing I am struggling with is that the left side of my shaft has tactical as well as temperature sensation, but the sensation is coming up in my right inner thigh. If I touch the left side shaft, my inner thigh feels all of it, and that part of my shaft I’m touching feels none of it. Even if I put an ice cube to that side of shaft, I will literally feel the coldness in my inner right thigh. it’s so fucking weird.. Also, that part of my inner thigh is numb. So it seems like my thigh and that part of shaft have switched nerves? Idk but I’m nervous that my sensation is permanently fucked up like that. Dr. Chen told me to give it at least a year for the sensation to remap itself, but it still trips me out. Has anyone else regained sensation like this? or have sensation that’s supposed to be in your dick but you’re feeling it somewhere else? Anything would be helpful

I remember watching some show as a kid where a woman got scalped by machinery and the surgeons were able to put her hair back on. Afterwards when she scratched one side of her head, she felt it in a completely different spot, as the nerves had gotten all confused and nothing was in the exact place it had been before.
I'd wondered if thay happened with rotdogs as soon as I heard about them, it's very interesting to find out that it does.

My one friend said that she honestly has no idea how anyone would be able to tell a difference after it heals because dicks are so weird in general and is so excited for me to be happy.
Feels pretty isolating and honestly I may simply distance myself from the trans community after I have phallo especially since there won't be any real difference between me and a just another cis guy.
........HOW HAVE NONE OF YOU TALKED ABOUT THIS?!!? This 100% confirms this person has never actually interacted with a man on an intimate level or even seen a picture of a penis.

ALT tends to produce extremely wide bases in addition to being extremely girthly, so usually not a problem.
I'm assuming it's for blood flow as well as to account for eventual narrowing at the base. (Apparently the base visibly narrowing is super common, and one of those things they don't like to admit. Can't remember the sub but one admitted to this on Reddit).
So the good news is that a fake dick with a wide base = maybe gravity won't turn it into a baseball bat weiner. The bad news is that dicks don't look like pyramids lol and eventually they'll have Complete Rotdog Failure anyway
Re.: the stinking stink ditch :
‘Small curdles’ .. what is that ??
Oh, it's curds. He definitely means curds. Thanks dude guess I'll go vegan now ffs
I nominate you to start this amazing thread. I’d like to add it to my watch list.
Every time I see these pooners with their insane wonky nips I want to draw them on where they should be. They'd be better off just eliminating them entirely and getting medical tattooing, the placement is always SO BAD

Honestly? I think we rarely get into the whole "looks totally cis!!!" delulu because it's just so very common.

From my understanding, the sensation is minimal, at best. Nerve endings are not simple things, and moving some thigh flaps, then constructing a tube out of them, is not really conducive to sensitivity.

8 weeks in and u/teeraveis already has 3 fistulas and a stricture.

3 fistulas and now a stricture
Just feeling discouraged and needing to type out my feelings. I’m 2 months post-op as of five days ago (rff, vaginectomy, UL, scrotoplasty) and have had a myriad of UL complications. At one point I was peeing through a fistula at the base of my penis, through my scrotum where the JP drain was, and below in my perineum where my natal urethra was. The base and balls seem to have healed but the perineum is being stubborn and 60% of the urine still comes from there.

I was instructed to do my third voiding attempt yesterday and found out I most likely have a stricture as well now. My urologist told me there are unfortunately a few patients who have significant complications and that he was very sorry I had to be one of them.

I’ve had a SP catheter the whole time and it has sucked the entire time. I’ve gotten it changed once and it was single-handedly the most excruciating thing I’ve ever been through. The surgeon says we will have to do a repair surgery for the UL complications.

I anticipated as much, but it still doesn’t take away the devastation. Two months post op and I’m still in hell with pain and discomfort daily. Sleeping every night is a painful challenge. I’m exhausted and worn out. I like my dick and don’t have regret but I’m just sad. I wish I had healed better and wasn’t going through this.

I’m struggling to grapple with figuring out hotels, flights, caretakers and finances again for this repair surgery. I’m upset that my dick has to get cut open again now, and I’m worried that what if this repair surgery doesn’t fix it?

I spend 100% of my day laying on my couch. I’m in pain otherwise. I’ve missed functions and get togethers and I just really thought I’d be okay at this point but I’m not. I’ve never cried as hard as I have before these last couple of weeks. I’m just searching for the light at the end of the tunnel here.

I have a therapist I talk to weekly. But it would be nice to hear from other guys going through currently or who have gone through what I’m going through.

Anyone in her position is usually on the cath for months.

Statistically the first surgery won't fix it. Fistulas are notoriously hard to repair.

Fistulas and strictures are more annoying than necrosis IMO. They're the ones that end up being life long patients. Repair surgeries every few months, chronic UTIs, kidney infections, bacterial infections, chronic open healing wounds, repeat antibiotics, reliance on pain killers. A fate I wouldn't wish on anybody.

At least with necrosis you can just get it cut off and move on. Fistulas and strictures are that annoying thing where it's almost right so they try to commit and fix it instead of declaring it a failure and just rerouting the UL.

I like my dick and don't have regret but I'm in constant unending agony and piss leaks out my crotch like it was replaced with a colander.

Do they hear themselves
