Square Enix's Avengers - Bootleg Avengers with stretchy terrorist.
I really hope they make another tomb raider game, since they're re-using body rigs from tomb raider in the avengers, look at all the interesting shit they could make as enemies if they took rigs from the avengers and put them into a tomb raider game.
Still can't believe they got Square Enix to do an Avengers game (something that most people could only dream about) and fucked it up by A) Giving it to one of their Western studios and B) Turned it into a soulless loot smasher sort of game. If it's not the most disappointing game of the generation it's at least in the top 10.

Go look up ZVitor's Marvel Infinity War. Yea, it's pretty much a 16 bit side scrolling beat em up with some fighting game retro assets, but...
-It's got loads of characters that you don't have to level
-It's free.
-You fight multiple factions other than AIM.
-It's free.
-It has extra game modes based on remakes of 16 bit Marvel games.

They plan to add some content updates throughout the years to flesh it out. I'm guessing they want to try and pull a battlefront 2 or a no man's sky but I doubt they will be able to. Also I hate how all these games are pulling this shit. Fallout 76, avengers, and all these new triple AAA games keep releasing unfinished games and expecting us to keep playing while they spend 5 years adding shit they should've added before release.
I saw an ad on Facebook that was basically like "Live out your super hero dreams in the new hologram room simulator!"
It was of course getting roasted in the comments. But I could have sworn that the fucking hologram room was a thing I played in that shitty beta they released last year.
Something interesting came out of this shit heap. Square Enix is starting to give out exclusive DLC to PC but only if your copy came from the microsoft store. if you buy on Steam you're shit out of luck. They have a similar deal with the upcoming Nier Remaster on PC and they have safeguards in place if you try to copy over the files and launch with another client.
So enjoy having PC become an even bigger war with digital storefronts. They're now parceling out games that way.

Apparently Avengers was some kind of pet project for the CEO of Square so it reeks to me of business people trying to dictate game design. The game would suck ass even if the game was fun because it resulted in us probably never getting a third Adam Jensen game.
