A lot of tumblrites use "boy" even when they're way too old to be a boy because it's nonthreatening. Boys aren't particularly masculine or scary, unlike men which typically conjure up images of facial hair and oppression. People like Spring probably also like to be infantalized and feel like victims and it's easier to guilt people by saying "Stop it, you're harassing a boy" than if they said "You're harassing a man."
