I was right, they did blackwash Jessica Drew. Also, that design is literally a rip-offs from Misty Knight, a Luke Cage character. Why the fuck is this needed, there's already an actual Black Spiderwoman named Valerie the Librarian.

Also, what's with the pregnancy? It looks like an indirect, thin-veiled, pro-abortion message.

I knew something was wrong with the director of the film when he was found to be pro-antifa.

Just a reminder that it was found out that there's a What-If that suggests there's a straight-up Milesverse, where Miles is also Thor, Wolverine, Captain America, & Hulk, amongst maybe even more mainline heroes.

It was extremely stereotypical & was mocked for being cringe & racist, mainly for cringe than racism

I don't know, maybe he just wants that single black mom representation, or maybe it's wrong think to have an adult white woman being an alternative "motherly" figure to Miles in this Spiderverse.

Or just lacking common sense in general, doubling down on pregnant Spiderwoman story. Or maybe he has that fetish.

About race swapping, I feel it's more like Westerner writers and localizors nowadays love to make a character must share same irl trait with voice actor. I mean not just must have black person voices a black character, trannies must be voiced by trannies. Race swapping and/or changing sexual orientation-gender identity of the fictional character if they must.

This case, with Issa Rae was announced to be in the movie from a year ago.

Few other examples:
Invincible TV series has black Amber because the voice actress Zazie Beetz is black irl.
Xenoblade 3 in English localization has Juniper/Yuzuriha being non-binary because EN voice actress identifies herself as one.

During the hightime of Overwatch and well, Paladins. How OW was proud of having LGBT characters, Paladins "community" having the need asking for who's gay in Paladins and HiRez decided to pick Fernando without giving any actual reason. It caused backlash because many of his voicelines implied Fernando being a womanizer.
And I found out Fernando voice actor being J. Michael Tatum, which leads me to speculate the only reason why Borderlands 2 has Sir Hammerlock being gay (of course, well written) because J.Michael Tatum is not just gay, but a huge faggot.

Apex Legends, call me paranoid this part if you want. Released in Feb 2019, only announced two characters being LGBT.

Lesbians story time.
After they added Loba into the game season 5 (2020), they starts to make Loba falls in love with Bangalore. I didn't notice it at first (I started playing the game around late 2020), just thought typical character development, growing respect to each other. Then they made everything confirmed with love drama triangle in season 9 (2021), oh yeah this whole love triangle is cringe, thanks god it's ended.
Let say I just happened to stumble upon finding out that Bangalore voice actress, Erica Lutrell, married another woman in Aug 2019. Yes, Apex is proud to have many fags in their game, recently with a tranny added.

That statement about Apex being more diverse than OW, it's still true. As in Apex right now has the highest LGBT characters more so than any other competitive FPS games.

It's a feminist message. Something about pregnancy shouldn't stop you from doing what you want and it doesn't make you weak. Just like dads are allowed to go with their life and careers you should too girl boss.
 
You know, I don’t know how good or bad the movie will end up being, but I can at the very least appreciate this being in it.

They've got to try to make their MCU despite it being tried literally dozens of times in Hollywood the last decade (including a good chunk of it by Sony with the Spiderman property) and always crashing spectacularly. They can't fathom that people don't care on such projects because the novelty already went away.

Yeah its so stupid, hopefully the third Spider-verse film isn't burdened by the Cinematic universe bullshit. But Sony and all other movie studios need to realize no one cares about superhero cinematic universes anymore.
