So I've just seen the latest James Bond movie, and it is pretty damn good. Although I did keep thinking of Deagle Nation, the first bit has Bond wearing a skeleton mask that was extremely Tyce-like. And the main henchman uses a double barrelled Deagle at one point.

I'd also like to say that I don't know where they're going to go from here, as the ending seemed extremely final. And Christopher Waltz wasn't in it nearly enough and Sam Smith sucks the big one.

My dad is definitely going to see this.

I'll probably see it within the next few weeks. I liked Skyfall and Casino Royale was good, but I seem to remember thinking Quantum of Solace was boring so I'm two for four on the modern Bond films right now.

I'm not sure how they'll continue to stand out as action films besides using the Bond name. I had a discussion about it after seeing Skyfall and thought that they should move back to being thrillers since James Bond is a spy, not a soldier, and his escapades should involve more stealth and intrigue than crashes and explosions. Casino Royale almost had that right.

Well you probably won't like this one then. It's very crash-y and explosion-y.

Oh, I'm sure I will. Crashes and explosions are just fine and when I go to a theatre it's usually just for the occasion.

This said, I just think it'd be interesting if the future films (which is to say after the next, since that's almost certainly already written) went in another direction.

Oh my God, that fucking theme song. I think that abomination is the only time a song has caused me physical pain. That guy's goddamn voice is unbelievable. Holy shit.
Oh right, the movie. It was OK. Didn't love it, didn't hate. Just OK.

I walked in having not seen a Bond movie before and these are my thoughts.
I was disappointed the main villain was not a skull faced man.
The song caught me off guard but I've grown to like it.
This movie felt I needed to watch the others to fully know what was happening.
Opening credit sequence was cool.
The business at the Day of the Dead festival was cool.
The lady was bangin'.
7/10 will probably watch again after seeing the other Daniel Craig movies

I like to imagine everything after the drilling is Bond hallucinating as he dies. It's the only way any of it makes sense beyond being schlocky crap. Although honestly, the movie was already falling apart from the moment they got on that stupid train.
