If you go on any currently-existing talk page without being logged in (e.g. [cwc]Talk:Son-Chu[/cwc], [cwc]Talk:Borb[/cwc], [cwc]Talk:Sonichu (comic)[/cwc]), there's a gigantic block of spam links for fake online pharmacies and shit that appears above the text for "The CWCki needs help!" It's in a div element called "tech". I'm running a couple week old installation of Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS with its preinstalled Firefox 18.0.2 with NoScript, DoNotTrackMe, and DisconnectMe. I tried the site through hidemyass.com and got the same issue, so I'm pretty certain it's an issue with the site itself. I can produce screencaps and/or source code on request.

I also have the same problem too.

nothing here. Running Crunchbang 11 w Chrome

...wait, nope. there it is in the page source. just isn't showing up on the page itself.

It is there. Its been there for some time. I dont know what it is but its there.

I saw it flash up on my phone when loading all the pages when we were still on the forumer boards. I posted a thread very similar to the Alan Pardew forums. I don't think anyone cares too much.

I thought we* got rid of the spammers.

*By we I mean canine

Either the Chinese have mounted another invasion or the North Koreans figured out where the former are getting their money and have decided to get in on it.

I just want to point out how effective the anti-spam stuff on our website has been, e.g. 100% effective.

I don't see any of this. Just logged out and turned adblock off. Ghostry didn't even find anything, which is rare!
Checked on FireFox with no plugins, and I still don't see any ads.

I saw you're running Ubuntu, is there any chance the other users having this problem using Linux as well?

Looking around a bit more, I think it was (still is?) an attack on each individual talk page through some MediaWiki exploit. The links are different on each page, but they're all in a div element called "tech" that is not used anywhere else on the wiki. The easy fix would be a server side script that deletes every single instance of that element straight from the HTML sources. I'm sure an experienced webmaster could write it in all of 90 seconds, but that's certainly not me. The only thing we'd need from there is to get Cogsdev to run it.

I remember a few months ago there were pics of Goatse pasted all over the CWCiki. That was my first time I saw it. Scared the shit out of me.
(Yes, I know, I've not been in the internet that long) :|
