Whenever I see this, I'm reminded of a story an old friend told me, and while I'm entirely sure I told it in passing at some point on this forum, it's funny enough to bring up again.

So this friend of mine worked in Porn. Specifically, the distribution side of it, back when VHS was the main format. He could be remarkably chatty about his experiences in the distribution side of things, like how certain studios were funding certain genres, or how popular different ones were. But one thing he constantly brought up, because it was a gigantic problem for his company at the time, was one specific genre of video smut.

Namely, Interracial. According to him, it was a rare case where the demand for it was nowhere close to supply. As such, according to him, it was the most over-produced porn genre, by a fairly substantial margin at the time. The problem wasn't that there wasn't demand for it; there was - the problem was that the gap between how much demand for it there was and how much there actually was produced was completely insane, pushed almost entirely at the producer level, and to this day, I don't think he ever got an explanation for why that was.
