HTSM was notably forced by a russian cp spammer, not even kidding here. It then caught on organically.
I can't really think of any staff-forced variants or memes, they never catch on past the first month. One notable exception though is jager. Ironically vlodson was partially but unintentionally forced by staff as well, as a bunch of them clitty leaked over it enormously.
Every variant was forced, even the historically relevant ones like soyak, cobson etc. It's just how variants catch on, post it enough times and it becomes sharty culture.
