everyone knows the hatedom for ds2 is an alt-right conspiracy in play by the chuds
I'm honestly sick of the zoomer revisionist trend of "Dark souls 2 is actually good" essay videos and online posts. No it's not. It's a bad Souls game but better and somewhat less bloated and boring than Elden Ring.

I would be too but it's not like I would have watched those videos anyway and my opinions have been set in stone for over a decade and no broccoli haired faggot is going garner my attention, let alone change my mind. In other words, my response to any of them would be

There has never been any document found which explicitly orders the gassing of soulmemory-ists or their sympathizers. That is a myth perpetuated by the lugenpresse and tranny png-tubers.

I haven't watched them either but I'm sure they're mostly based on "ds2 good because no open world sloppa" bait. I'm still waiting for the "ds2 good because no gay-incest duo boss" video. A worrying trend continued from ds3 into ER.

There is a rat level

I wouldn't have said that DS2 was bad (Just that Dark Souls and Dark Souls III are a lot better). But I wouldn't have said that it was better than Elden Ring, either

Miyazaki should helm a remake

DS2 is an interesting game. The world is extremely beautiful and dangerous, the bosses are mostly interesting, and the story is cool. It's just that it's also filled with extremely annoying and retarded mechanics. Thus, the best way to play it is to have cheat engine ready to curbstomp the annoying stuff whenever it pops up.

He should have never acknowledged the accusations and shrugged it off and never revealed his voice or embarrassing fursona. Because I liked all his videos he put out prior even knowing he steals it from dataminers or tranny dataminers he hangs (pun) around.

Except the Activision sponsored 2023 Sekiro video that led nowhere but a shitty anime. Fuck him for that and fuck Activision for getting my hopes up for dlc or a sequel...
I'll never forget the joy and elation I felt when he said Activision was sponsoring this Sekiro video years after Sekiro was relevant. Surely the sequel is in the works I thought. I'll still hold out hope just because I'm not sure if Activision gives a fuck about the ms paint tranime they're making.

I will never forgive Miyazaki for forgetting my nigga Nito

He was cool and his covenant was fun for trolling people, is a shame he was never mentioned again.
Don't worry, Yu Tanimura didn't forget him and gave his soul to a fleshy retard baby who plays with dolls by himself in the basement in DS2

Man, fuck the Chigger that though shoving the Moonlight greatsword up Seath's ass was a good idea. "Well, if you want it, you need to cut the tail!"

EXCEPT THIS FAT FUCK AUTIST DRAGON JANNY MOTHERFUCKER HAS LIKE FIVE FUCKING TAILS AND NO LEGS!!

And he turns around so fast, fuck this shit.

it only took so many years of nonstop vomit for a nice short video about DS1 to be made

its a very fresh and inoffensive take on the game but it helps me realize the genius behind the minimalist storytelling elements

I think I began to just fucking despise the story and lore because of the mishandled sequels that flanderized and botched this unique tone, and how lore spergs and the faces of this shitty community put it and how all our sources of information in the west are just fucked horribly beyond repair but honestly I appreciate the fact that they made it this way and it exists at all as one of the best conceptual followups to a game I've ever seen

Dark Souls is best experienced as its own entity with the DLC

the lore is a headache to get into but it worked for a reason and this video is nice closure for my years spent on the game and research

This fandom is so fucking bleak if a faggot like this can say something decent about the game without fucking convoluting it... The title cards should have clicked with me. I've been fooled. It's over. It's over man... Fromsoftware or gaming overall should get a lolcow thread akin to TSO someday to keep track of all these community fanbase faggots.

Is it? its a world where entropy is tied to what makes humans and gods ensouled, and the prices people are willing to pay to keep it going vs finding out what horrors await a new system.
No its not. It is a world following Demon's Souls basically, then it's somehow resurrected by fire and constantly fights itself with these new elements. All returns to stone in the end, it's an engaging tale just in a different way than say Lord Of The Rings.

I am aware it handles fog differently but come on now. It's clear they used the bad ending of demons souls as a general outline to build from. These games are all high concept moreso than objective.

Depressing and horrors are the surface level aspects of this dark fantasy, but the game has such a bright soul compared to any other game out there. The monstrosities aspect comes from DS3 making the world grosser off the heels of Bloodborne horror development. There is an elegance to disturbing ideas that Demon's Souls and DS1 that no other game had. Maybe Sekiro and bloodborne too.

Look at this and tell me it's not related, same universe or not it's no coincidence dark souls follows with a beginning of a mysterious world shrouded in fog, however now the fog is the line between existence and non-existence. Humanity is doomed here and the world is not quite dead it's simply still. The whole big bang of souls are reborn from the powers within the world from demons souls. Just my theory though and one that may be true if they were allowed to retain the rights to Demon's souls.

Instead of fog closing off part of the world you play in, now it's the first flame's intense effect on Lordran that separates it from the outside world. It's a clever way to both make something new and still bypass copyright laws.

I'm aware of this, but it isn't hard to really understand, its so high concept that its pretty easy.
and yes the world has a happy ending, Dark Souls 3 went out of its way to have one, they introduce the first, truely, completely noble hero character to you, Gael, and you and him go on a Knight Errant quest to help a lady make a perfect peaceful, eternal world, at great and total cost for Gael, and the cost for you to never get to see it, in that way it ends on being rather Aurthurian, with Gael being a clear and fucking obvious nod to Sir Galahad, off to find, and actually acquiring the "Holy Grail".

And then they did it again by making elden ring a followup to that plotline. The vibrancy and ways it looks like a painting and more scenic than their prior work should give it away.

Gael... Heroic? Lmfao. You forgot plenty of other heroic characters involved in fromsoftware stories I guess. Gael was just some fucking random hollow slave soldiers. He's not heroic at all he's just some accelerationist. He is just the in-universe equivalent of a more proper final boss than the corny base game one already was. Gael is just the equivalent of a dedicated player who somehow goes beyond hollowing for gameplay purposes. But unlike the soul of cinder he's actually kind of fun to fight, and whip his ass after elden rings bullshit fights.

I mean in the classic romantic sense of heroism, he's a Knight Errant on a quest for a fair maiden, hes quite literally a take on Sir Galahad.

Gael doesn't have accelerationism or anything else to him, all he cares about is getting the dark soul for his lady, which is his very last coherent thought after untold eons of questing.

There are other noble men but they are mostly crazy like Solaire, or they fell like Artorias (fitting the guy actually named after Arthur got corrupted in this setting) or are meandering like the two Seigs, or are spiteful angry fucks like the guy guarding the failed blind bonfire maiden.

Gael stands out for his dedication and purity, all he cares about is the quest, above all else, including his sanity, his soul, and his life

The video is kind reaching. Dark Souls having less plot is more due to technical and financial limitations than design wise, the sort of happy accidents when devs have a limit and work with it. And you can see that with the added budget the series lost that charm.

Also I really wouldn't put the bible as intentionally vague, especially Genesis which is more of a collection of folklore than a more developed story.

Does it really? its just shorter and smaller in scope, the Exposition Serpents tell you fucking everything, the only vague part the fate of a ton of mentioned characters (who's fates are somewhat exposited on later in the series) and the ending and what it means.

FROM has always done story telling like this, you get bits and bobs of exposition, but alot of it is just told to you through the enviroments, like in King's FIeld, or vague character monologues like in Armored Core.

Elden Ring is different in that we are told much more, but I wouldn't call it bad, the DLC is probably the most direct they've ever been with themes, allegories, and plot in their entire catalogue of games, Shadow of the Erdtree makes it explicit that Elden Ring is both an Allegory for the Holy Roman Empire, and also for Alchemy in general, as both Marika, and Miquella seek to, in essence, finish the Grand Work and create The Rebis, and with the allegory, its very clear that all of Marika's rise and her religions fall, is almost one to one to the Holy Roman Empire and its many dealings with other factions and religions.
