Disaster Soros' Money Manager Warns Recession Is "Inevitable"

Archive

Dawn Fitzpatrick, chief investment officer for Soros Fund Management, described a recession as “inevitable” in a recent interview, but noted that she was not overly concerned about the general health of the economy.

“The bottom line is a recession is inevitable - it’s a matter of when,” said Fitzpatrick in an interview with Bloomberg Business on Tuesday.
“There is no doubt that interest rates are going to go higher, and the Fed is going to move very, very quickly,” Fitzpatrick continued.
“That said, interest rates net of inflation are still negative, so monetary policy is still really easy, so again I do think rate increases will slow the economy and will impact inflation, but I think this economy has some shock absorbers built in that will allow that to happen … I don’t think we’ll avoid a recession, I just think it will be further out than people expect.”
Fitzpatrick was also asked about the risk of further economic damage occurring as a consequence of Russia’s continuing invasion of Ukraine, which she said would not be a major liability for the United States, as the country remains uniquely insulated from the developments in Eastern Europe.

Interestingly, Fitzpatrick claims that climate impact will increasingly come into focus. This could hamper the adoption of Bitcoin, which relies on the energy-guzzling proof-of-work consensus algorithm. Ethereum is expected to dramatically reduce its power consumption by transitioning to proof-of-stake later this year and so Fitzpatrick believes "ethereum is likely to gain some more traction over bitcoin."

Overall, she believes that crypto "is here to stay", adding that it has gone mainstream. The manager of billionaire George Soros’s fortune is also convinced that blockchain is going to have some great applications.

Last October, Fitzpatrick confirmed that Soros' family fund owned some Bitcoin.

Fitzpatrick has served as the head of the family office of Hungarian-American financier George Soros since 2017. The majority of Soros’s assets are tied up in the Open Society Foundation, an organization that invests money into philanthropic and political causes to advance the technocratic vision of the philosopher Karl Popper, who coined the term “Open Society.”

As stock markets continue to slump and the economy seemingly lags in the face of inflation and supply chain complications, a growing chorus of experts have begun to use a certain r-word more liberally. But while a growing chorus of experts has come to view a recession as likely or even necessary to stymie inflation, opinions vary on the potential severity of a looming economic downturn.

Fitzpatrick’s remarks are echoed by other professionals in banking, business, and economics. Former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein has described a “very, very high” risk of a recession, while Wells Fargo head Charlie Scharf said there was “no question” that the economy would see a downturn in the near future.

To be fair, it was already kind of obvious a recession was going to happen sooner or later sue to the pants on head retarded policies of the Biden administration. Who the actual fuck gets rid of an oil pipeline going through the US just to antagonize an oil producing country and increase gas prices 3 times what it was in 2020?

Your about 14 years late to the party. Any first year economist could tell you it was inevitable after the bat shit insane "quantitative easing" plan that would only delay a recession, leading to an inevitable even more disastrous one that we are currently on the brink of.
So this has nothing to do with the oil and gas or the inflation and the situation is about to get worse?

It's depressing to think I'm not yet 40 and have already lived through two great fucking depressions/recessions. If the country wasn't such a shit-show, every banker, politician, and asshole who wears a suit 5+ days a week would be publicly hung. There's only so much "I'm highly trained to do this job you can't do" I can take before I decide that maybe there shouldn't be anyone driving the train, because it's being piloted by malicious pieces of shit and going off the rails can't be any worse than what's going on under the care of someone.

All in Minecraft, of course.

Just don’t look at the price of fertilizer in the last 4 months 🌚

Is Soros trying to make a few more billion trying to manipulate some country's currency again?

Considering how congress at minimum floated the idea of allowing alcohol as a beverage in congressional meetings, we're selling shit to foreigners while being reliant on imports for luxury goods to keep the citizens happy, and how this may all end due to a tantrum spiral, I think Dwarf Fortress is what we're playing. Now if only we could rid ourselves of those fucking knife ears... In fortress mode.

The best part is he also lifted sanctions on the Qatar-Turkey pipeline that would directly benefit Putin, and then told Putin it would be cool with the USA if Putin did a little invading ok Ukraine, but not too much. What did he really expect would happen?

It has a lot to do with inflation because the FED has spent the last 14 years propping up failing companies with near 0% interest loans they have been handing to banks who in turn give them to what experts call "zombie" corporations which has flooded the market with cash that has been becoming more and more worthless as time/printing goes on. A policy that more or less went into overdrive due to QE and no one has stopped this because doing so would crash the economy and destroy millions of jobs.

Biden has been threatening pathetic .5% raises in FED rates every quarter to scare away these companies from taking out loans, but these companies are simply too far in debt to not borrow more money and a .5% interest raise every 3 months is nowhere near severe enough to control inflation.

But not oil and gas shortages, that sits squarely on Biden's demented shoulders.

That's still gonna buttfuck consumers, who are already living paycheck-to-paycheck.

And now that the free gibs is gone literally everyone is throwing a fucking tantrum and trying to get their pound of flesh. While apparently thinking other countries are going to want retards that can't run a company or country properly.
ESPECIALLY China, a place already rife with said failures that they cull them on a regular basis (the retards also assume they won't get the same or worse treatment IF they get in. Btw).

They have no idea that they're going to die with us if they keep self-destructing this shit.

The same person controlling Biden who wants to also crash Canada's economy harder and set them up for being the first country to be "Great Reset".
