Are you seriously arguing that Amazon don't physically deliver products to people's houses?
It's like you're intentionally skipping a key word when you read it, relating to a time of day and when a game launched.
Early on it wouldn't be uncommon for Amazon to deliver a pre-order a day or two before release, which yes did beat out Midnight releases if that is what this argument is about
Yes, but this also hasn't been a thing for a while now either.

The only up-side to any of this crap, is that I'm sure the lawsuits against Sony and Microsoft regarding no marketplace options are already being drafted

@ChefKiss didn't say they'd deliver it at midnight, he said Amazon would deliver 0.01 seconds after they were legally allowed to. Point being there's no need to queue up for it when you can easily get a copy online.

You extrapolated that Amazon would airdrop it to your house at midnight, or some shit

Holy fuck you're retarded. I didn't "extrapolate" shit. I specifically brought up midnight releases at gamestop and other game stores where people bought physical media to get it as quickly as possible.

Can you not fucking read at all? Why did people go to midnight releases at places like gamestop? To get the game as quickly as possible. You can't do that with amazon you idiot. The direct competition that turned gamestop midnight releases into a joke, was being able to buy the game digitally, pre-install the game, and being able to play it the moment the game was released. You can't do that with fucking amazon unless amazon is breaking street date agreements(which they used to do regularly until the publishers got on their ass about it).

Fucking illiterate ass people... the whole fucking point is that amazon can't compete with gamestop or a digital preorder for a consoomer wanting access to the game as quickly as possible.

Is this new with them? I am ignant about such soy knee judaism. This just came across my attention.
Are soy knee thugs going to beat you up if you sell your games at a flea market or garage sale?

It may take 3 and a half years for this to be a problem per account, but I see this as a problem.
You know they will make reasons for this time period to get shorter and shorter over the years.

Funny that like Nintendo's EULA before it, it takes people actually taking a second to read the terms and conditions when there's a change in game ownership to realize how fucked they can get from it, but unlike Nintendo and thier "we have the right to console ban your shit if you're retarded enough to go online with a hacked console or unoffical copy" that existed for several console generations until people actually read... I don't think there was ever a previous instance of such an insane "if you don't log in every now and again, we have the right to take your shit away" besides possibly older versions of Sony's ELUA

Basically every single company has had a near identical line about banning you if you get caught going online with a blatantly pirated copy of a game since the ps360 days. People have bandied about a thing where microsoft will ban your account if it's inactive for 2 years, but that one has specific provisions to NOT ban any accounts with any purchases at all. This is the kind of shit you'd find in the ea origin or the ubisoft launcher, and of the big 3 consoles, is entirely exclusive to Sony, and seems to be a somewhat recent addition too.

You WILL engage in PlayStation forever lest you lose your account. PlayStation itself is turning into a live service.

Again, this shit goes back multiple generations now. It was exactly that with the PS3. There was never any guarantee that Sony would keep running the online services for the PS3 forever, and when they would inevitably shut it down that you'd have any way of getting your online purchases back, be able to download the giant patches to make games playable, etc. and Microsoft was no better. This has been in the works for 20 years.

that really sounds horrific if the thought process behind the addition of that and them doubling down on live service games makes it sound like the people running Sony and especially SIE were so assmad about people not buying Concord, or engaging with Marathon, or any of thier live service games that wasn't Helldivers 2 on PC that they are now actively trying to morph anything playstation related into a live service in an attempt to say that they were very sucessful with live services.

In fairness, there would be SOME expectancy that online services would eventually retire due to age, limited functionality or inactivity. In the PS2 days, Sony did not have a curated only ecosystem then. They had that Online Broadband Service thing, but that was mainly dependent on the developers directly than Sony.

Valve normalised lootboxes in the west and non physical games, doesn't matter how fun their sales are they bought us here. Fuck gabe and his gay yachts and lack of Valve SP games since Portal 2.
I think FIFA Ultimate Team Packs existed 5~ years before CS:GO skins. I still have hatred in my heart for making skins something that suddenly cost money instead of being goofy shit you copied into your local game files, but I think EA fucked the dog before Valve here.

TF2 crates were before the CS:GO skins and sports cards afaik. I won't argue there was always crazy P2W stuff in Korean MMOs but Valve really normalized it in the west
EDIT: First TF2 lootbox was late 2010 but apparently the cards in FIFA 09 ultimate team were some P2W shit, you might be correct but TF2 keys still hold up and are the fiat of the entire economy of Steam, while FIFA 09 is forgotten on consoles two generations ago.

You are right, I forgot they tried it with TF2 crates and keys prior. I double checked, apparently the '09 FIFA was originally a paid DLC (even worse what the fuck they made you BUY the right to gamble :story: ) And TF2 items were added 'hats update' but the crates were later.
I still think that EA/FIFA fucked it up more/harder, purely based on the reach of those games (FIFA was and still is fucking huge compared to TF2 even back when it was 'good'). It was folded into the mainline release after the success of it, but again I am not discounting Valve's part in normalizing it in the PC sphere.

So I know some people won't care about Maxamillian Dood, since he's really a nobody outside the fighting game space.
I hate this chinger changer nigger dagger so much.
HE is an endless cock sucker for capcom and sony / other game companies.

MaxDood has slowly been getting more batshit since he's been responding to fandom nobodies online, it'll be fun to see the mask shatter totally. That and he lives in the bughive with his chink wife, of course he's TDS.
I pray we get a minor lolcow thread. I have never liked him and found him always fake.

His Son Gray Newell essentially runs Valve at this point and has been for a while. He's 28.
I imagine this will eventually go the way of the Tolkein estate.
Eventually the grandkids aren't gonna give a shit and see that money and take the bite.

I pray we get a minor lolcow thread. I have never liked him and found him always fake.
The main issue with giving him his own thread is him simping for the FF7 Remaquels and saying that fans should listen to games journalist, because they say the games are solid 10/10 masterpieces, as well as the drama around him saying Trump caused Sony to ditch digital media are the most noteworthy instances of him stepping in it I can remember.
