The Hollywood Reporter says Miller is now developing and will executive produce Sonic the Hedgehog, based on the wildly popular, incredibly fast Sega character. It’ll be a live-action, CG-hybrid and Miller’s producing partner, Jeff Fowler, is directing.

Much as I love the idea of a Deadpool-style Sonic movie, I doubt that's what we'll get. The reason Deadpool got away with so much was because the Fox execs didn't give a shit and figured the movie was doomed to flop.

With a franchise like Sonic, though, there's money riding on it. Sonic Boom was unexpectedly popular, probably due to the main character's beautiful blue arms, so Sega know the franchise isn't dead. And it's got to be suitable for all ages. Basically, I suspect the money-men will be breathing down the director's neck all the way and preventing things from getting too subversive.

And yet I always sorta thought it would be typical cartoon looking hands and fee (like the three-toed look above, we're so used to it as Americans, yet Sega likes to give Sonic those five-fingered hands like there's no tomorrow)
