Late, I know, but Tails is still using that WiiU pad thing? It was a mildly amusing bit in Colors but Tails using a computer that's literally half his size is just dumb. Even in '06 they had playing card sized devices that could emit holograms.

Don't worry, IDW is living on borrowed time and so is IDW Sonic. It's not like it has a large cast of interesting characters that could be repurposed for later, unlike Archie.

It's explicitly been set up exactly so they can reuse the characters after IDW goes under.

Unfortunately portable devices are much more difficult to build in the world of Sonic the Hedgehog, where they've had flying/hovering cars since at least Heroes.

Oh yeah that's the no life troon that was first to max the leaderboard points. Literally did nothing but live stream the game all weekends it could. I think it was using nothing but meta builds as well. Now you just reminded me that I need to actually pull their twitter shit and post that shit into the troon reality threads.

Well, this same guy was also the one who constantly shit on the game for "Bagging" and how "high-level players play".

When in reality, you can easily get Top 3 or 4 with just good driving, cornering, and luck (which is a good thing for party games like this). His constant shilling for a need for a ranked playlist, nerfing, and changes to make the game less fun was damaging the game's perception.

I have to thank the SpongeBob map for providing a small dose of random fun (Jellyfish jump), having tight corridors like Apotos (another Top Tier map due to FUN and randomness in those areas), and not having esoteric BS knowledge checks for comp troons.

I can't tell you how much I can't stand competitive-focused people ruining otherwise fun games by demanding balance, everything to be bland/predictable, and forcing everyone to play 1 particular way. And shifting the developer's focus from having as much fun as possible to E-Sports shilling, removal/demphasis of community servers/content, and controlling your experience to the max.

• Fighting games in general (removal of a ton of offline singleplayer fun, minigames, sidegames, etc... all to chase e-sports)

The fact that Whisper and Tangle got ported to the games ironically makes me MORE confident IDW could go down the drain (when I was a little skeptical about it before) now that they have the fan favorites ingame with very little story baggage that they can easily rewrite as "Sonic's friend with a tail, but only one" and "Sonic's friend who has a gun and likes Wisps" entirely independent of whatever stories they had in the comic for further use, compared to everyone else who's far more disposable, forgettable, and comic-centric.

That's a really good point. I actually remember one of the scenes in Lost World that I liked were when he hacked that one roboticizer thing with a toothpick and pretended to be brainwashed so the Deadly Six would send him against sonic where he could drop the act and escape, so I guess for scenes like that and the ones in OVA, it WOULD be cooler for him to work with what he has instead of using some high tech gadget to do shit for him.

They literally have no other choice. They must show humans somehow sooner or later, and GUN is very important in the movies. Moreover, in Shadow Gen there's a hidden diary with a new human woman who may be behind the shooting of Maria and the whole shitstorm that happened. That lady made a "blink and miss it" cameo in a pic in official art IIRC, and it also shows up in one of Tailstube videos.
If SEGA doesn't do that, the only choices for bad guys are Eggman or Evil Space Alien n. 1241st, so bringing back GUN or something like that is highly encouraged.

I can totally see it, too. Whisper's gameplay would be Avatar 2.0, and Tangle's tail abilites look like they could be accomplished by reskinning the Werehog grab abilities from Sonic Unleashed. Not only are they gameplay compatible, but Sonic Team could even be lazy and implement them by copy-pasting stuff from previous Hedgehog Engine games. Ian knew exactly what he was doing here.

It would be naive to think the same SEGA that demanded Sticks be replaced with Blaze on a Christmas artwork is also asleep at the wheel when major characters are being pitched to them and approved.
