Fang, Neo Metal, Black Doom, The Hard Boiled Heavies, The Babylon Rogues, Nega, there's actually a lot of villains or antagonists that could be used as standalone baddies if you wrote it right

As stated above, these are restricted in one way nor another: Fang is a merc lackey bound to the past for inane reasons. Neo Metal could work if he goes rogue again, otherwise he's Eggman's lackey. DOOM could work, if he's resurrected (perhaps by the time the movie about Shadow reaches the live action works?). The Heavies are minions with personality, unless they steal another Mcguffin again, I suppose. The Rogues are crooks, not proper villain materials IMO, but that can be argued. Nega is Edgy Eggman. And so on.
The issue is not only the writing, but having Sega remember they have characters rusting somewhere.
I would like for the Battle-Bird Armada to show up again so that Tails can throw napalm bombs at them once again, but I dunno if that will happen, especially with Ian "Lol FLASHBACKS!" Flynn.

Lastly, I read the crossover comic. There's no infight upon the two teams meeting as usual but instead begin working together immediately, probably because the JL side is waay more powerful than the Sonic gang (Superman could take out half of the cast by himself). Flash should be faster than Sonic because the former can time-travel, but maybe it won't be touched upon much as to not piss off the Sonic fandom. We'll see.

Silver/Metal/Mecha Sonics are bland villains unless they have personality like the OG Metal Sonic, and even then they are still Eggman's henchmen unless they go rogue. But I suppose it's better than facing Eggman's death machine number 12353rd.

I wonder why do the crossover with DC, considering their stupidly high power level. Why not do it with Marvel's Avengers?
Not that it would matter as again, it's pretty much fanservice for both teams.

I had all the Sonic games in the 90's. The weird thing is I have no idea why because I didn't even like Sonic that much. I was a Mario kid. Sonic 1 2 3 and Sonic and Knuckles.

It's bizarre to see how much Sonic '06 is mentioned in this. They didn't have to keep it around. If you are going to make an official and consistent cannon of events, now would be the time to clean house. I know that would cause issues and you would have to re-write a lot of things like Silver's whole back story. However, Secret Rings and Black Knight were left out but Sonic Shuffle really needed to be cannon for some reason.

Weren't both games mentioned in Frontiers and Generations? Although I forget if it was in the original Generations or just the Ian Flynn rewrite. Also funny how Sonic Rush happens just before the main events of 06. Blaze still makes no sense
