I saw the movie last night, and it was pretty good for a children's movie.

But it's pretty good as far as video game movies are concerned but not as good as Detective Pikachu only because the latter pushed boundaries more.

- Jim Carrey's Robotnik though was probably the best part about the movie since he was consistently entertaining and his dynamic with that agent was hilarious. I look forward to when he hams it up more.

- The music they took from the games and changing it up was really neat and hope more video game movies do it.

- I love the sprite work for the credits sequence since it was really well animated.

- The sanic and child in a bag jokes got a chuckle out of me

One thing I am really surprised by that this movie did well is that they made Sonic more of the focus than the cop guy because usually in these "fictional character comes to the real world" movies, the fictional character gets less of a spotlight so we could focus on boring family drama, which is what I'm glad the Sonic movie did.

I took my young cousin to see it today so this actually makes my second viewing of the film.

Honestly, I'm super happy it's doing well. It's not a bad film and they managed to make Sonic more endearing than he's been in a long time. The kiddos seem to be eating it up like crazy so that's good too.

It's really kind of a classic underdog happy ending. I thought this film would be like Cats after I saw that first trailer. And how here it is, pissing off the twitter army and bringing joy to children everywhere as a smash hit.

Is there even anything remotely problematic about it other than that they actually listened to the fans, and SJWs literally hate and detest everything so much that that, by itself, is actually somehow a problem to these evil fucks?

There is literally nothing problematic in the film at all. Hell, there's a progressive interracial romance that's done tastefully. People just like to complain because they can.

The good news is that movie audiences are starting to prove that the twitter mob does jack diddly shit. This movie and Joker, both films that the woke crowd HATED did extremely well. And with all the stupid feminist all-female schlock films falling apart, it's becoming more and more clear that this kind of nonsense is going to fade away. Studios want money above everything else. And if it took a little blue hedgehog to seal the deal, so be it.

They're literally just salty because it's doing better than Birds of Prey, which since they have the memory of a goldfish, they think is the first female super hero movie. And because the studio listened to fan criticism and changed Sonic's design instead of going "FUCK OFF! IT'S NOT FOR YOU!" like a truly progressive company would.

Well lets think like a REEEEEEEEEEEEEtard.

1. A cop is a GOOD GUY #BLACK LIVES MATTER, #Bashthefash, #Fuckthepolice
2. Sonic is totally an Incel, he lives alone for a decade and just wants friends, which is problematic because Incels are Alt-Right Nazis so Sonic is a Nazi.
3. The cop decides to not move to the GLORIOUS city of San Francisco at the end, which is problematic because he chose to stay in an area that probably voted for DRUMPH instead of moving to the superior shit filled streets of California.

ironically enough, you've made out the sonic movie to be more problematic than the people TRYING to make it problematic

the best they can do is "SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING HOMOPHOBIC" and they fail to explain further

They are brain dead twitterati asshats, of course they fail at everything they do.

You should see my "According to Intersecionality, Voldemort was the Good Guy in Harry Potter." thing.

This movie had absolutely no right to be as enjoyable as it was. I now have to try and explain to a four year old why I was laughing so loudly at a badly drawn Sonic picture.

Jim Carrey was spectacular. Clearly loved the role, and I saw flashes of the Cable Guy in there - a reminder that he can do threatening when it's called for.

Favourite joke was the Russian doll nature of the Tank Badniks. That was a surprisingly cool design for, and use of, the Drones.
