Yeah, but it still grossed a billion dollars and even with its meh reception, I don’t see how Sonic’s opening shows there to be a significantly higher excitement over it than that, as opposed to Detective Pikachu and Birds of Prey, which Sonic will speed past.

Sonic also made back its budget it into opening weekend. Given what they spent on reshoots and advertising, I don’t think TROS can say the same.

Did you even watch the movie? It's pretty abrasive. Like the first thing Knuckle says to Sonic when he first meets him is "Do you know the wae" which is obviously the racist Ugandan Knuckles meme which got popular a few years ago. I'm surprised that Hollywood even had the gall to do that, it got worse when Sonic replied back "Wow, you went to Uganda? I thought you hated black people." I can't believe the Alt Right infiltrated this children's movie.

I thought that was okay, but after Sonic screamed the 14 words into a megaphone partway through the film I admit I got a little uneasy.

That and when he and Amy fucked in the burnt out ruins of the synagogue they'd just torched.

What version of the movie did you guys see? The only thing homophobic I could think of was when Dr. Robotnik used his drones to just randomly begin shooting at a pride parade in San Francisco while dancing a fortnite dance in his truck. He began to sing about cleansing the gene pool and he mugs a lot during the minute or so this goes on, but it does allow Sonic to take a needed breather.

And the only racist thing was his nickname for Tom's wife was Nigger, because he heard her get called that by the town drunk.

Surprisingly...? It was pretty good. Tickets were sold out on several showings so I had to see the latest one. Theater was packed. This movie is doing pretty well and fuck it--i say it's deserved.
Autists and normies alike can find enjoyment in it.
