The human shaped and proportioned body is really bad as well. Everything about this "realistic" design is a hot mess. But we've got some blarms so I expect all the autistics to be ranting about that instead of literally everything else about the design.
 
I can't fucking watch the trailer. I have to take a two minute break every ten seconds or I'll OD on second-hand embarrassment.

Color me surprised, I was expecting a 1 to 10 or lower like/dislike ratio. I really thought hardcore Sonic fans would go full CWC rage over this but they must be the ones liking the trailer because I can't see who else would.

regarding the rings... they look like those great rings from archie sonic, which looking at the trailer more and more might be the actual direction they're going... mixing in some of the sonic promotional material in of course.
 
Why did I bother watching this when we already saw the design? Brain cells don't just come back in their place.
 
I find it hard to believe but I think I prefer to watch Hbomberguy cosplaying as Sonic. At least he seems to have known he was in terrible cosplay. But Hollywood seems to have no awareness they are doing it wrong starting with whoever made that atrocious CG sonic.

Detective Pikachu has made it work from what has been talked about. Although I thought TMNT: Out of the Shadows was a step-up from the 2014 movie. They had at least fixed up their faces for it.

But my personal favorite go-to 3D-animated character will always be Dragonheart. Then again, I'm biased.

I love 90s CGI so much, it's so incredibly charming (and fake).
