In other news, looks like we’re getting a movie trailer soon.

three episodes in and the show is just, meh. they should have named the show "Wade" since he is the real main character and his cringe all around. the typical loser dude that learns to be brave at the very last episode so we have to spent the rest of the series following his predictable heroes journey.

i really hope the last episodes picks up but i doubt it. atleast the hole Jewish thing had me laughing even if it was out of place.

Episode 4 is the funniest imo, but I went in prepared for the whole show to not be as serious as the movies. I dunno how people in general reacted to it.

I'm not a sucker of the franchise going into comedy territory unless if it's AoSTH or the Sonic Boom show, which both surprisingly worked well with the comedy aesthetic. I might give Knuckles a shot just for that sole episode, but I'm still very worried

I hate when corpos try to cater to millennails/zoomers with their "relatable" bullshit, and ironically, Sonic's official social networking was the first to do such a thing and then Wendy's followed suit

Initially I was going to ignore this series because the synposis of "Knuckles and that one comedy relief cop from the movies go on a bowling road trip" sounded kinda boring.
But then I saw Sonic fans and Sonic Youtube e-celebs literally breaking down into tears over it, so I gave it a shot.

People shit on Star Wars and Marvel fans for getting overdramatic about their media slop output but Sonic fans take it to a whole different level of sheer faggotry.

On to the show:
It was actually pretty funny. It's definitely aimed more towards normies and the 80s kids who grew up with Sonic by the time the 1990s hit. It's chockful of 80s music and pop culture references, which made me roll my eyes so fucking hard. It's a definitely Sonic show for the dads who owned a Genesis and rented Sonic 3 as kids who are now adults and have kids who enjoy Sonic as well.

My favorite episode had to have been Episode 4, the ones Sonic fans like the guy above hate so much. The Rock Opera was fucking hilarious and campy, and there was a lot of attention to detail when it came to making the intentionally low-grade costumes and sets. They say it has "no Knuckles" in it, but the entire musical segment was just telling Knuckles' backstory. They even brought back the Echidna chief from the Dreamcast games.

The dialogue was cringe in some areas, which is par for the course with a modern TV comedy.

The family subplot was whatever, I think it's funny that the episode where Knuckles learns about Jewish traditions was one of the only two episodes solely written by the only Jewish writer on the team, Brian Schachter, and that this show isn't even the first time a piece of Knuckles-related Sonic media referenced the Holocaust:

This feels like the punchline of a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode setup. Larry gets told he can't reference the Holocaust in a children's TV program, and so he devotes his every waking moment to figuring out how to sneak a Holocaust reference in, purely out of spite.

Thank you, Ken Penders.

Final notes: The sister was also the worst character and I hope they kill her off in the final movie in a horrible way.

Also, watch this dude's review, it's full of so much soyboy rage that's even funnier after you actually watch the show:

tbf Sonic fans have been the butt of jokes for the 2000s and the early 2010s, its just other fandoms have embarrassed themselves more than Sonic fans since around 2015.

2017 to be exact, because by that point Sonic Mania came along and everyone rejoiced because it washed the bad taste out of everyone's mouths that was 2014's Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric, which everyone collectively went "um, no"

I say 2015 only because Sonic's blunders by the fans were more overshadowed by other types of fanboys.

2000s - 2015 were the most prevelant age for Sonic lolcows which painted Sonic fans badly.

Watched the Knuckles show, it was okay. One thing that I noticed in the final episode, the bowling commentators mention that Knuckles wasn't the first time the championship was visited by extraterrestrials, the last time being in 1974, but those aliens weren't red. The year is exactly fifty years ago, so I assume it's a reference to the Shadow the Hedgehog game, and the black comet, which comes around earth every fifty years. However, I doubt that the plot of Sonic 3 is going to be about the black comets return.

IIRC they did say once that Sonic 3 would draw from both SA2 and Shadow. Not sure if that's still the case, though.

More good news for the Knuckles show. The positive side of things for those who don't like it is that it's reaping benefits for the franchise as a whole. Just look at how well Frontiers sold, that was in large part due to the movies.
