More specifically, this part:


So there is no "early Tails model" to speak of, unless you count the slight redesign he went through inbetween movies. This also tracks with the fact that his game voice actor is the one voicing him, so Tails probably wasn't even in the movie until after the redesign and rewrites/reshoots.

I know the next movie is going to be all about G.U.N and the Space Colony ARK and Edgy the Hedgy (PBUH) but that screenshot really is one of those images you can hear.

I really thought they'd do some Team Sonic moves from Sonic Heroes in the big final fight with all three of them, they must be saving it for the third movie.

There's the rolling combo from Sonic 4: Episode II. It's slightly altered since they're in the air and do it horizontally, but otherwise pretty much the same.

Assuming this isn't bull or doesn't get changed upon release, it sounds like it'll be a lot of fun.

Nice to know Robotnik is still alive and they're moving away from the human couple drama (hopefully they make Robotnik more eggish this time or have him be played by Mike Myers or someone similarly round if Carrey decides to not reprise the role). Also nice to know my boys Big and Metal are getting some love. I also like the little nods to past obscure media these movies keep making. The second movie even put more emphasis on owls, and Tyson Hesse even connected them to that whole Sky Babylon shit from Sonic Riders.

And are these mini-emeralds some kind of reference to those weird early Sonic comics where there were like thousands of mini chaos emeralds everywhere instead of only seven?

Goofy shit but a nice touch. It shows that these movies haven't been superficial in their references and connections and were made with fans in mind (not the gross bbq furry ones) unlike other attempts at adapting or continuing pre-2000s IPs these days.

I don't buy the "leaked" details at all. The movie isn't out until the end of 2024 but this publication somehow knows all the characters that'll appear? Not a chance.

TBH I'd rather they not recast Robotnik for a third movie if Jim refuses to do it for one more film and they just go with using Stone instead for it. It'd actually work just as well tbh, him obsessing over his boss so badly he revives his grandfather's experiment. Carrey's performance was a treat and it'd be weird to watch someone else try to get that same energy going for the third movie.

As for the details, it could go either way, but I'll give more credence to it when the film actually starts shooting since plot ideas can change quite a bit.

As CGI heavy as these movies are, they'll have to start rendering now to have the film done by 2024.
