More Labyrinth Zone evidence, too. I wonder if they moved it to Angel Island since it seems the Master Emerald is there. I'd assume Robotnik meets Knuckles in Mushroom Hill Zone which is on the island, right? I just want to see it smash into the ocean, I don't know why, I just know that it had a massive impact in me as a kid to see it fall from the sky.


Follow up autismo hype: I really, really want to see an Egg Carrier. Fuck that Sonic Heroes floating fish nonsense, give me that sweet as fuck Gotengo looking craft.

Funny, cuz I remember them bashing the first one all because it came out the same time as Birds of Prey, the Harley Quinn wet fart of a movie that barely anybody remembers. Sonic was obviously way better than that trash, but if you even dared to say so, cries of " THE SANIC MOVIE ACTUALLY CONDONES HOMOPHOBIA!"(?) abounded:

It has its problems and you can clearly see the studio mandates in regards to some of the jokes but there's a solid enough foundation there that it works. It helps that Sonic and Tom's relationship isn't just one note either, plus obviously you have Jim as Robotnik.
 
Ditto on the Jetzons reference. I know it’d probably never happen, but a little help from Brad Buxer in the soundtrack department would have the audience collectively shit their pants. The Genesis kids, anyway. Didn’t he become a pilot?

All it took for me was seeing Sonic eat a chili dog. They went hard on the lore from the looks of things. I admire that!

EDIT: Where’s my manners? I forgot to add a song tax. I know S3&K has the most banging soundtrack, but COME ON:

Review embargo's up. Currently sitting at 63% with eight reviews, though I expect that to fluctuate over time (and the score will appear and disappear as is RT's wont). Might level out around the original film if the trend continues. Don't forget that the original film has over 200+ reviews to date, it'll take time to assess the final score.


Positives include:
- Action is great
- Knuckles, Eggman and Tails deliver
- Themes of family and friends are as strong as ever

Negatives include:
- Film is overly long (it's 30mins longer than the first)
- The human characters aren't given much to do leading to filler scenes (Edit: There is some contention here as different reviews mention this not being the case, opinions etc.)

Basically if you liked the first, you'll probably enjoy this. Just be prepared for a slow lead-in to the third act.

Had a feeling it'd be them. Not gonna watch the clip, but it's nice to have something to look forward to beyond the film itself.
