Is nobody going to talk about just how pretty the Chaos Emerald in the trailer looks? The little flecks in the stone were a lovely touch! I'm glad to see the second movie is going to pull more from the games.

Also the strong possibility that Metal Sonic might make his way into this movie AND make me excited at the prospect of him being animated in 3D is something I'd never ever thought I'd admit.

Is it a Chaos Emerald or the Master Emerald? I feel like one of them would trigger Knuckles' autism harder than the other. It looks too big to be a Chaos but too small to the Master.

I’m assuming the one in the ruins in that one shot is the Master Emerald.

Fatboy is really holding a grudge over the fact that people didn't like the original Sonic design and made enough to noise to get the suits to make it more like the games. What a bizarre hill to die on. He is so mad that people like a Sonic movie and that it managed to get a sequel that's also being met with praise

Emerald from the trailer is Master Emerald
Also I like the way Jeff Fowler(the director of the movie) manage characters. Either he is a huge fan or he has done excellent research on the subject he is working on.

My God, Knuckles is actually looking badass. Am I a kid again in 94?
At this point, I wouldn't mind it if they made a Knuckles spinoff or prequel. My favorite little echidna is looking badass. Bonus points if this is pissing off Ken Penders.

A shame more people in the entertainment industry can't be like that. The movie is looking great so far and one of the few films I'm genuinely looking forward to. Only thing I'm still not liking though is Eggman's human sidekick. I would prefer it if they just gave him a little hovering eggbot or Orbot sidekick for him to abuse.

If someone manages to call his sidekick “sniveling” and Sonic nicknames him “Snively”, it’ll be worth it.

Speaking of Britbongery I really like the winter gear they wear, reminds me of Sonic's disguise in Fleetway comics when he's on the run from the law for being a little prick.

I have never seen that man before in my life.
He's from the British Sonic comics that I read as a kid, he's basically less cowardly and more conniving than Snively but totally loyal to Robotnik. I remember thinking he was more evil than Robotnik because his plans involved targeting Sonic's friends and defenseless allies instead of Sonic himself to undermine his powerbase.

Does Sega still even care about SatAM at this point? After the Archie and Penders drama, the last thing I would want to do if I was in their shoes is revisit that radioactive fallout and its cringy fanbase, even if Penders and his lot have no claim on them. Also what exactly is the appeal of Snively anyway and why are so many fans and fangirls so in love with the little bald midget?

If they had to have a satam character in this, Uncle Chuck would've been the ideal choice.

He was Eggman's green-skinned gremlin-like sidekick in the british comics, Grimer Wormtongue (he was named after the Tolkien character Grima the Wormtongue).

Starscream appeal, I’d imagine. Between him in the comics and him in the SatAM cartoon.

I remember going with my roomates to see the movie thinking it was going to be a trainwreck. We came away thinking it was a good movie. My only real issues was the part at the main character's sister-in-law's place kinda dragged on. But overall a light, fun, and enjoyable movie. My attitude towards the sequel is "Sure, why not? I'll go see it." It was interesting to see how well financially the first movie did and how well kids seemed to like it. With how old Sonic is and how his recent track record with the games being pretty spotty, I thought most kids wouldn't care about Sonic.
