Game comes out in a couple of days and my cousin should be getting a review copy very soon for his gaming magazine. I don't have a Switch so I guess I'll get it on PC.
Anyways, super excited for what could be the best Sonic game(probably won't, but some people think so). How excited are you?
PC Version just got delayed to the 29th and drama is blowing up everywhere due to possible DRM. Doesn't help that someone already leaked the game early.
This game is actually really good and very faithful to the original games unlike the dreck the actual Sonic Team guys have been putting out for the last two decades. Very reminiscent of the quality of Megaman 9 and 10 had vs the usual Megaman games developed by the usual Capcom guys.
I'm beginning to think fans actually produce better content than the game companies themselves and should probably be employed more than sent C&Ds constantly.
Yeah stuff like Denuvo is usually a PC-only kinda deal.......... honestly makes me wonder if I should have canned my pre order for the console version of the game, or did they use the 2 week improvement delay as an excuse to throw in DRM?
SEGA apparently patched that now, but it seems there are some refund problems going on for the PC port, most notably the Sonic 1 pre order gift triggering the 2 week refund period early. Plus Denuvo is still in.
I like very much how they added the missing transitions and changed the last portion of the metal sonic fight.
The only thing I don't like very much are some of the bosses, especially the final ones.

It's a good game, just unhappy about the fact that I had to pirate it because they added DRM to the PC version. I don't get hyped for games anymore but I was happy to actually pay for one for once because I'd followed the work of the guys that put this out for many years. Sega decided to be retarded and I'm sure they'll justify not porting games to the PC due to the lackluster sales. I'll probably play the plus version whenever someone releases the crack.
Anyway, I loved the 16-bit games back when I was a kid and Mania put me right back there for a few hours. Had no desire to replay but had a lot of fun. The engine they've built is really good and if Sega has any business sense at all they'll let this team produce an original game at some point. It was nice running through those old stages and they kept it fresh enough that it wasn't a straight port of them but I feel like they could do so much better if they were given some creative freedom. It's awful that Sega has fans this devoted to the old games yet they just keep shitting out bad games with Sonic slapped on the cover to appeal to the furry side of the fan base.
