Apparently the creator didn't want the players to modify the sprites in the game, even though he quite literally uses sprites from a game called "Sonic Battle" ironically enough.

If the creator is hiding, what about their friend that could be messaged about the game's DRM kicking in? Are people going after them too?

I've found forum posts talking about this game that dates as far back as 2011 (now heavily edited by mods to avoid more victims). It's funny how this guy killed off his fairly liked project just because of some illegitimate copyright bullshit.
