You know, I honestly believe some people are legitimately "in the wrong body" and have a legit case or reason for being trans, and that's fine; but it seems like there's been this echo chamber -- not just on SA -- but the internet as a whole that tells people who are maybe just gay, or just fucking depressed that this is the way to happiness... and that actually scares me a little.

It's not just that, it's autogynephiliacs who get off on being seen as women that have basically taken over the entire trans thing. It's people having a fetish and living that fetish to its fullest being enabled by other perverts. It's the entire reason for this SA shit: the troon who got a boner being told where the women's restroom is got a boner because he's not a woman trapped in a man's body, he's a fetishist. This is extremely common in troon communities with them talking about getting erections while in women's changing rooms or bathrooms. Because they're not transgender, they're perverts.

Don't be naive. The odds of someone being born "in the wrong body" are so astronomically slim you might as well be talking about a fucking unicorn. There isn't a single tranny freak on SA that could claim a legitimate genetic condition to justify their transition. ZERO.

There's some preliminary research indicating it's possible, in rare conditions, to have a sort of "intersexed" brain (which is NOT the same as man/woman's brain in woman/man's body) that could be responsible for some cases of gender dysphoria. However almost every one, if not in fact every single one of these goons is just a trender, homosexual, crossdresser, or autogynephile that's joined a cult/succumbed to a social contagion not unlike anorexia.
Why they can't just be femmy, fags, crossdressers, or have a fetish I don't know.

I've definitely run into a few people who I would either believe are 'legitimately' trans, or at the very least aren't hurting anyone and are generally reasonable people (like our very own ex-mod Feline Darkmage), but the internet is a place where it's easy to establish an echo chamber to reinforce the worst behaviours of any group. They refuse to ask themselves, or even allow other people to, questions like why they're really doing any of this.
One of my goon friends mentioned a random poster on the wrestling subforum who talked about being depressed about being overweight and unattractive until someone said "nah you're probably just trans and experiencing gender dysphoria!" and he said "you know what that must be it, good thing I don't need to take any real effort to improve my life!" and that was that. I think I mentioned it before but seriously, it's insane.
