The 90s had the advantage of being a period when being fair and forward-thinking still meant "don't treat people different because of their race/sex".I used to look down on my grandparents, who couldn't understand why they weren't allowed to tell (mildly) racist jokes anymore because those were "offensive" in the 90s. Now it's gender issues instead of race, and the word "offensive" has been replaced by "problematic". Okay, grandpa, I get it. I'm sorry.
I mean, I don't want to tell racist jokes per se, but I'm damned tired of basically innocent fun being shit on because someone else gets a power kick out of it. I say, bring back the days of the equal-opportunity offender. No one's offensive if no one's safe!
Now everything sucks.
