I like the mermaid's tail and the way the colors/sparkles are treated, but just...no to the stretch marks, and whyyyy the green hair and eyes when the tail is predominantly pink??

I remember this series. I dipped into one of the episodes to see if it was worth watching and a lot of people in the comments were not happy whenever one person tried to rationalise why one of the male lions in the series acted the way he did (for context he and the main character are basically in an arranged marriage they were groomed into as cubs, the mc runs off to be with her lesbian lover which results in the lover getting killed and the male lion forbids homosexuality in prides from that moment on). It was basically "You're wrong he's an evil cishet lion because he's a homophobe and if you don't agree then stop watching the series uwu!".

I was somewhat interested in this series but lost it all when that episode aired. The writer's grand plan of explaining natural lion behavior and "pride law" was...homophobia. And that is what the viewers are meant to take from this, that pride law is homophobic. And that is the only thing the viewers care about. But the fans and writers of this show are pretty stupid.
The safest most secure members of this system are adult females. All they have to do is exist, and hunt, and breed. Male and female child lions and all male lions are meat for the slaughter of this system. The life of the Mane and cubs are constantly on the line, most cubs likely don't reach adulthood, adult males either starve to death in the desert, lose their minds in the desert, or find a pride, have to murder kids because they believe this is what the lion gods want, and then possibly and very likely violently die one day from the same cycle, as will his children.
But oooomygaaaawd the gay lesbian lions can't lick each other oh noooo! That is the true evil of pride law!

If Light is a cis het misgynous homophobe why did he create a system of laws that wrecks the shit out of cis male lions like himself? His girlfriend was stolen from him by another lioness. Its like the writers were so gung ho about this stupid forced lgbt message they forgot to create a flashpoint of conflict that actually aligns with the message they are trying to push.
Also someone forgot to tell Tribble that female lions tend to not be gay irl. So all of this build up and bullshit to try and tackle an issue which doesnt actually exist. And ignoring the child murder...and murder in general...and rape.

This is exactly what ran through my mind when I watched that episode. The system actually does more damage to the male lions than the females and completely fucks over the narrative. yet when viewers tried to apply some logic to it they were told to gtfo. I kinda want to see if I can find some socjus art for that show and see if it's as bad as the rest of the garbage this thread has.

As a side note last I heard they were going to introduce a troon lion later on in the series. I bet the fans are eating that shit up.

Plus, Light was rightfully angry for what happened. His gf essentially ditched without even telling him, letting him draw his own conclusions. And it was more on the fact that she abandoned him than the fact it was gay. Yeah, Light was a monster for slaying a bunch of Innocents but it could have all been avoided had she just told him the truth.

Plus the world of the series is already entirely female-centric with lioness goddesses. Males essentially have no position or platform other than killing each other for a few short years of sex and rule through pride law. It all rubs me the wrong way because it's an excuse to say that every single male or heterosexual thing is a lesser, forceful bigot.

The troon lion was the one who rejected firemane until he killed feather. At first I thought that was just a really buff ugly old female lion but no that was meant to be a trans-lion. i hate it so much when people get so anal about girls in drawings having improper anatomy + revealing outfits. like maybe the artist is not so familiar about anatomy and/or the outfit on the girl is intended to arouse the viewer???
