It reminds me of the inmense shitstorms that happened when people first saw Nessa (the black gym leader) and for some reason this was like the second coming of jesus for some people. As if we didn't had black gym leaders or a black Elite 4 before her. There might be also some things about Bea (the fighting type one) but i don't know. It's not like i went on and played the game to begin with.
To be honest, it happens a lot more than you think since "size difference" is kind of a fetish among some circles. It's awfully common to have short people being paired with bigger people because they see it as some sort of perfect duality, where the big one is the tough protector and manly of the pair while the smaller is the softie that is weak and caring. That, or the size difference thing.

That's because the previous prominent black characters are men or were in Sun&Moon (who even cares about that game?). Remember Olivia? Maybe she wasn't dark enough for Tumblr.

tbh, i loved Olivia a lot and i liked how Brock and her easily connected with each other in the anime. But there is also Iris (who was the Champion of Unova) and Marshal of the Elite 4. And maybe you can mention other characters from Sun/Moon like Kaudan.
But like you say, maybe they weren't black enough for them. Or they just follow fads like the shallow pricks they are

Besides that fact, I'm White and Slav girl. I'm really tired, and bored, when the artist draw black persons only with afro/dreadlocks. I just wanna saw black girl with straight/wavy hair. It would be look original and non-stereotypic, or I'm thinking, that hairstyles don't have a race

Which is so funny but also frustrating. The way Galar simps speak, is like for them before saint SwSh the Pokemon series was nothing but skinny white people. I see them shitting on Misty or Lenora or Elesa for the stupidest of reasons, just because they aren't darling Sonia/Gloria/Nessa.
I bet you anything if Nintendo announced Next Gen tomorrow, and included a bunch of black characters, all these Raihan/Nessa/Leon simps would quickly change their tune to flick their bean to the new "so progressive" characters.

Idk if this is just me but I hate when people refer to it as "queer/fat/poc bodies", it just sounds dehumanizing, like minorities are nothing more than the bodies that show what kind of minority they are. What's wrong with just saying "people"??

I think it has something to do with the fact that using any non descript term to refer to them as people would offend some snowflake out there that might find it hurtful in some bullshit way. You cannot call them people, because you refer them as humans. But what if some of them are non human, you filthy disgraceful ableist filth?
Still, i think it's the most dehumanizing way they can refer to someone because you just value them as a piece of meat rather than who they are. But being leftist retards, it's normal they are that shallow
