self shipping is fairly old, at least it began taking steam around 2014 in tumblr communities. it wouldn't be so bad if these fangirls then didn't complain saying it's a form of empowerment and feminism while at the same time dissing on canon pairings and OCxCanon pairs.
UN BELIEVABLE
I CANT BELIEVE IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO REGISTER
Cucked mail services will not answer the confirmation and I had to get around that to reach this
The abstract weapon
The IDEA
Has become the strongest weapon of all.
/rant over.
Alright now on topic, Im here to add that western video game charater are getting more cucked
Here is a collection of recent monstrosities
I remember playing Watch Dogs 2 thinking that was a man transitioning into a woman, and I was sitting here thinking, “What the hell does this have to do with cybersecurity and hacking?”
Today I found out "self-shipping" is a thing. I mean, self-insert characters exist since forever, but those are just characters with a lot of author traits, writers often put a bit of themselves in their works etc. And "my friend is sad so I will draw them being hugged by their fave character" things are harmless.
But author of this blog (allegedly 17year old boy named Simon who claims he is in the community for a few years) ships uwu anime version of himself with every character ever.
Those include
guy who wore Voldemort on his head
Freddy Krueger
polygamous relationship with freakin' Playmobil movie.
The art itself is more competent than a lot of stuff in this thread, except for the weird snout-nose thing. More odd to me is the autistic obsession with sexualizing children's toys. Yes, you know that vaguely human-shaped chunk of plastic? It's CLEARLY bisexual! (These things shouldn't surprise me anymore, yet somehow they still do.)
Lastly, putting aside the obvious "its plastic, so it doesn't have a gender", what is this

I will give the steampunk (?) fat one a pass (it's actually pretty cool, very specyfic design and she has nice stylized face), but rest of them don't really look like women. Or men. Unless they are drug-addicted grannies.

Those eyes look very sad. I would be too if I was just a fake diversity stand-in. And no racist but the picture looks dark, the background could use some light colours to make Black Betty stand out more unless a dark, gloomy day is what you were going for.
Betty Poo... I can actually see Betty work as black character in way that would be visually interesting, this isn't how you do it. Her skin is just awful and makes look somewhere between sick and on drugs. Unless doing dramatic lighting or sickness, black skin should be shade of warm brown without much blushing. Roughly black skin shows less reds or purples but is more shiny that lighter skin tones. It's honestly not that hard.
Now, I'm not a fucking expert, but honestly Betty would look interesting as a black character if done it correctly.
But anyway, here's my shit take on it
