Their problem with anime porn and boob armor and stuff is that it isn't degenerate enough for them. It's got the male gaze and etc. which makes it reactionary/conservative in their minds. These people are extreme libertines who want to throw everything that came before, even earlier forms of liberal degeneracy, into the garbage, for not being libertine enough. It's certainly not for the preservation of virtue, sexual chastity, honor, or anything an actual puritan would believe in.

They're not puritans, but fundamentalist anti-puritans.

I don't think it's puritanical or elsewise. I think it's just girls being girls, who prefer men over women and therefore don't want to see bobs and vagene. Hell it's possible it maybe even riles up some competitive instincts which is why they feel that way to begin with. Men who act like this are either lying to themselves, or they're gay so they're not interested anyway. Remember, boobs are bad, but gay is OK!

eh, I’ve seen these “woke” OCs everywhere, their all practically the same. No defining traits except for being “woke”.

competition theory would explain the uglification too, they're not allowed to be attractive, so they make them more "realistic" to knock the fictional characters down some pegs.

Especially since kill la kill does not play just for fan service. The show very plainly talks about issues around people being half and completely naked because clothes based superpowers. Characters are embarrassed, feel pride, argue, shame, encourage and so on. Even if it had started as excuse too see pretty people in cool and sexy clothes, they really work with that premise for drama and humor.
