My genuine guess is that he is "profiling" Ganondorf to be evil like the other ones, and its meant to be some exceptional racial allegory. He is a villain because not all Ganondorfs act the same way, so stop being so closed minded, Link!

Either that or the artist wanted to do a cheap switch of protag and villain to be cool, without actually putting in the thought or effort to make it work.

Like what if the good guy is the villain because he had to do some progressively brutal shit in keeping the world's best interests at heart? Yeah no Tumblr can't plan beyond "x is ___ now."

I think the funniest thing to me about these 'racebent' characters is that you usually can't tell what race they're supposed to be. They just pick a shade of brown from the color picker, splash it on the character, and say 'IT'S A POC!11". I like to call it wokewashing.

I think race/sex bending can be fun and interesting if it's done right. But most people just put some brown on a character and call it a day.

Definitely. I know this is getting slightly OT (and it's a bit autistic) but I always thought that this was a good example of a racebent Sailor Moon cast. It's obvious that they're black (Rei's box braids are a really nice touch, and SM's hair being styled into 'fros like OG SM's buns is cute. And it's a bit hard to see, but Mercury has obviously very kinky-textured black hair), they're not SJW-black, and I thought the artist did a nice job keeping the 'feel' of the original characters while still giving his own take on them.
