I do actually see improvement there. The tumblr influence isn't quite as bad as many other examples in this thread. As long as the artist doesn't fall too deep down the rabbit hole, they'll be just fine. I like both drawings tbh.

A lot of things, but mostly the fact that it's a popular anime nowadays, so of course they flock to it for notes. Other things include it being shonen, or boy's anime, so it has lots of uwu teenage boys they can ship together and draw porn of. I actually really like the show and manga, but the fanbase, especially on Tumblr, is crap. It always hurts to see them fuck up awesome characters with their so-called "progressive" fanart

A black actress played her in the Cursed Child play at the West End and Broadway, and JK Rowling has said that there's no reason for Hermione not to be portrayed as black, but I think that JK Rowling imagined her as white when she wrote the books.
