I want to know what makes them think "These cartoon characters from my childhood make the perfect mouthpieces for my political posts"
No matter how legitimate or unobjectionable an opinion is, it's completely defunct if you use fictional characters to express it (unless the character is actually intended to be political)

I find this pretty ironic. Disney has crippled itself story-wise/character-wise out of fear of losing money, so these characters would NEVER show any sort of political affiliation. Because of censorship in a lot of countries that Disney sends their movies to, they have to be painfully straight laced. That means no ideologies that could contrast any other countries (Ranging from UK to China, they need to be safe on all fronts).
