When someone tries a little too hard
If you want to have a racially diverse cast of characters who happen to be some sort of legendary beings, why not make them creatures from their home country's mythology instead of run of the mill werewolves, angels and vampires? This seems like a huge waste of potential to me.
And of course the only white and straight characters have to be gay and trans.
