Relevant to the thread, everyone interprets this character and Devil Cookie as non-binary because for Angel Cookie's case, his/her pronouns are not mentioned in-game, and Devil Cookie is referred to as "they" in the English translation.

Late and only tangentially related. It's insane that these people expect you to read into things the exact same way as them. I was watching a twitch streamer blindly play deltarune and he dared to call the main character "He" and the chat and community flipped the fuck out over it. The dev apparently confirmed the middle schooler character was an enbie on Twitter but it wasn't referenced in game. Do you really expect every single person who plays a game to be as terminally online and as completely subsumed by gender politics as you?

Even if you happened to notice that the character isn't specifically called he or she in the game, wouldn't most reasonable people assume that the main character is androgynous to be a player surrogate?


It became the most important thing in the world to these people to chastise the streamer because he didn't interpret some minor thing 'correctly' in their minds. The streamer just shrugged it off with an "Oh, okay" but the chat wouldn't shut up about it until the end. I imagine that's what cookie discourse is like too.

The one on the right is meant to be Arno. In-game he isn't exactly huge, but he is tall and lean, somewhere near 5'11 or 6'. Connor is one of the tallest Assassins, standing at 6'3-6'4. He is huge. Yet, Arno looks like a teenage boy compared to him. Arno has rather broad shoulders and a tapered waist, while Connor is built like a linebacker. Aren't Frisk and Chris all ambiguous? No confirmed gender doesn't necessarily mean enby. This is a issue that plagues these communities, that they seem to believe a character's gender never being mentioned or never being referred to with pronouns = must be non-binary.

The Cookie Run fandom is a stark example of this. The moment someone calls Poison Mushroom a "he", they're dog piled with people telling them to change it to "they". It's insane. Imagine being so worried about misgendering a piece of nonexistent dough couldn't be fucking me because I don't give a shit about fanmade wiki's pronouns, I always use the original translation because it's closest to what the developers were going for. I don't know who translates cookie run from Korean to English but I hope they finally realize that "she" or "him" in Korean doesn't mean "they/them" in English.
