Bluey enjoyment in adults is directly proportional to dissatisfaction with one's own parents. Also it's not a coincidence that pretty much the only TV show about good parenting in the last 20 years has become as popular as it did. The people are starving for a world where we glorify family again, hence adults are going crazy for it. It's not even just autismos and tumblr people, I've seen bodycam footage of bona fide hood niggas from the projects going on tangents about their favourite Bluey character to the interviewing officer. I have witnessed some very unexpected types of people IRL state out of nowhere that they love Bluey. It's a cultural phenomenon at this point.

I was once locked up in a looney bin for just over a week and most of the other people their were hood style criminals there to get time off of jail for getting psych treatment and one of the excercises we were forced to do was name a tv family we would want to be a part of and in this group of black gang members three listed the Cartwright family from Bonanza, four wished Andy Taylor from the Andy Griffith Show was their father, and another four wanted Bill Cosby's character from the Cosby show.

Ypu are right the modern generation is hurting for good father figures and when they are forced to stop anf think about it they know that is what they needed.

It makes me sad that there are so few good fathers they are turning to tv for them.

Earthbound is this par excellence. It's not a disturbing, or even creepy game by any stretch of the imagination. It's very goofy and lighthearted, and all of the "horror" comes from people hyping up the fight with Giygas. Because they're pretentious faggots who think knowing about EB makes them the video game equivalent of an arthouse film connoisseur. As if it's still a hidden gem and not one of the fastest selling games on virtual console. There's a reason why pic related hit too close to home for some fans.

Adventure time always get praised for its deep and complex characters which sounds stupid because it is, ever since Pendleton Ward stopped writing for the show after season 5 its been a constant barrage of random literal who characters who no one gives a shit about that appeared from the early seasons for 2 mins getting full 15 minutes episodes to talk about muh nihilism or muh deep worldview or some other gay philosophy to come out from the writers ass.
 
Honestly most stuff people say is dark and deep is not actually dark and deep. I think it's harder to pinpoint stuff that actually is.
