This thread is mostly to recommend shows/videos to play in the background so you can fall asleep. I've found that old episodes of Forensic Files work really well:
And there's even an entire website dedicated to shit like this:
http://napflix.tv/

I fell asleep many times in the middle of watching episodes of that old 1960s BBC documentary on the First World War. The narrator is kind of dry, but it is worth watching for the interviews with the firsthand witnesses of the war, back when they were still alive.

MST3k, except for a few eps like Rocket Attack USA since that has like ten minutes straight of a loud annoying beep.

Usually anything involving politics and real world issues under my YouTube subscriptions (but only when it's late at night - otherwise, I try to lend an ear to such things, only because I aim to give a listen to people who are well versed in both...).

Law & Order Criminal Intent is by far the best show to put on if you're looking to get some sleep. It's so painfully boring and dull you'll conk out before the first commercial break.

The live action avatar the last air bender kept tried to watch it twice only to fall asleep both times

There was a period of time where I fell asleep every night with Red Dwarf playing. I found that seasons 1 and 2 worked best for this. No idea why.

When FXX did the Simpsons marathon last year I loved crawling in bed with it on and falling asleep to and and then waking up in the morning to simpsons.

The entire ID channel (all murder, all the time). Though Lt. Joe Kenda has the best voice for falling asleep to.
