1.12.2 has shit memory allocation though. 1.19 can be smooth as fuck with little ram as possible due to the custom java arguments and how new java versions handle shit like garbage collection.

Programmer Near (byuu), the creator of 'bsnes' and 'higan', known as 'the most accurate SFC emulator', committed suicide, Kotaku reported.
This was recently revealed when Near posted a photo of himself and a meaningful message on Twitter, and then security consultant Hector Martin, who shared with him, released a message from the person who appears to have had his last conversation with Near. According to both published messages, the incident involved Kiwi Farms, an internet forum that was born out of personal attacks on 4chan and features harsh and persistent personal attacks on a large number of people. According to the forum, personal attacks caused by Mr. Near's autism and other causes over the years that eventually caused serious damage to Mr. Near's associates, which is a major factor in this tragedy.
The 'bsnes' and 'higan' that Mr. Near was involved in were developed not only to reproduce the SFC/SNES architecture, but also to accurately emulate the actual behavior of the chip, and are known today as the most accurate SFC emulators.
