Also it is almost impossible to skip changing your official address except if you're a bum

From my understanding it is a german bureaucracy issue. He didn't update his address while he was in prison and they want him to do that at the local mayor house or post it via mail to the preferred agency (assumption). What I really want to know is how he got the mail "too late", did he suddenly decide to visit old address again or what was the reason exactly (things I assume intentionally left out).?

For me the guy is a lolcow himself, and Naomi Seibt is a whole new can of worms

What has meanwhile become public is that they want to bill Shlomo, among other things, the wiretapping of 5 of his friends and family members - the German state wants to have almost 11,000 euros for that.

This part is the most disgusting one to me, IF it is true which I hope its something that will be verifiable in the near future or this sunday during the premiere of the video.

Cases like this aren't that rare, though. Two widely known are the elderly man refusing to pay GEZ/Rundfunkgebühren which are 19€ fee per month independent if you like it or not so the government can shit out trash documentaries about how an alcoholic employee of the channel survives one week without alcohol or have 6 different channels streaming a soccer match (seriously look it up, the supposed support is so the government can boost culture and art via television but most of the money goes towards sports, imp the streamer and achsestwest on youtube have talked about this a lot).
The other case is a youtuber called ApoRed (CoD youtuber turned cryptobro scammer who fled to dubai and lives off of instagram stories and pretending to be a rich guy) who literally had no money anymore and stopped responding to the mail, switched address without notifying the government (while still making YouTube videos in germany).

What all of them have in common is that it isnt something that happens out of the blue, it happens gradually with a lot of warnings. Don't get me wrong: I do not like the German government but these were issues that could've been prevented many times and this time its no different.

This happened to me in America. Tried without knowledge or consent. And the judge hid the verdict, as he said he was going to, which was only in one circumstance (of the outcome).

No years. The magic word is social adequacy clause.

I don't want to derail the thread but the way the Germans have used the legal system to control narratives about the Holocaust is way more self serving (though in a different way) than conspiracy theorists and Holocaust deniers claim.

To give an example Oskar Gröning was an SS NCO that was stationed at Auscwhitz during the height of the killings. After he retired in the 1980's he started trying to refute Holocaust deniers using the bizarre tactic of writing to them and stating that he had witnessed the killings first hand and had an in depth knowledge of how the camp worked. He reached out to the media and to various government agencies, the only thing he got in response was threats.

Eventually a BBC documentary about Auschwitz used interviews with him. Though through the use of editing they implied he was unrependant and that they had tracked him down rather than the other way around.

After he started to get foreign media attention, the German government arrested him, and charged him with 300,000 counts of murder, and then dragged the trial out, knowing that this would stop him talking to the media, and providing 'unauthorised' takes on the Holocaust. It would also prevent other former SS men from coming forward with testimony.

As far as the German government is concenrned they control the narrative, which is that it was the NAZI's seizing control of the German state that was responsible.

It's the same motivation that makes the German goverment give hundreds of millions of € in aid (mostly EU) to Tanzania on condition that they don't pursue the Herero and Nama genocide on the international stage the way the Armenians do with the Armenian genocide.

Well, fed mail will be redirected automatically to your jail.

If the public prosecuter tells you that you are under investigation you have to tell them if you're moving.

Considering he tells the truth and the fed mail was send to his address instead of his jail - easy win for his lawyer.

I'll repeat myself, if you're on the edge of legality and there are a bunch of people who want to see you in jail it's important to be very aware of these things.
