It's back up. According to Kengle, there were issues migrating shit to the new web hosting service so he restored it via an older backup.

I did a test, and so far my computer isn't fucked up, and I'm running Linux. I heard about nanochan from this place and the guy that runs that Dig Deeper link site is a fellow paranoid shitposter that's big into privacy/security, so take it for what it's worth.

I've been using fedi for a while now and it's pretty great.
Other fedi platforms have better interfaces than pleroma, but allegedly pleroma is the lightest weight so it helps make traffic go smoother.

All it is is a bunch of politisperg bots (actual bots) and they really shit up the timeline with twitter-style garbage.
