Just saw this today. It suffers from what most Godzilla films suffer from, where they obviously only have the budget for about 30 minutes of Godzilla destroying stuff and getting shot at, So the fill the the time up with boring dialogue between a bunch of characters off screen, who seemingly have very little if any interaction with Godzilla. The actual monster in this one has all the personality of a fish flopping around on a dock.

I like my Godzilla as a massive asshole that doesn't get along with other monsters and begrudgingly saves the world to get them off his back. Shin Godzilla has no personality at all. He's an eel with legs.
 
Just been introduced to Godzilla with Godzilla Minus One and I got so see, I loved it and really want to check out the other Godzilla films. Though I am willing to bet most of the other Godzilla films aren't as sophisticated as this one.
