THAT'S STILL ON THE AIR?!?!?! HOW?!?!?! Who the hell is watching that??! I barely made it past the first season.


Anyways, one that stands out to me as Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I watched it in High School and College, but grew out of it and moved onto other shows.

Years later, I randomly come across something online announcing the series finale of the show and my jaw dropped as I had no idea that show was even still going.

As a kid, I got that way with the original TMNT series. I'd say I watched the first 4 seasons, and then moved onto other things, as kids do. I'm a teenager at this point and I go to a friends' house, and sure enough, his younger brothers are watching TMNT, but new episodes I had never seen before. I was absolutely shocked as I had no idea that show was still going. It was in its final seasons at that point but still, the fact that I could stop watching a show for 4-5 years and then comeback and find out its still on the air was pretty surprising. The original series ran for 10 seasons.

I was not aware Punky Brewster and Silver spoons had as many seasons as they did until I tuned into Metv as background noise. Same with Doogie Howser.

I had tuned out of tv during that time period because they opened up a pretty good skate park and that was more my thing.

Apparently Supernatural keeps being made despite it being the same rehashed world ending apocalypse event with the bad guys from the previous seasons.

American Dad has 17 Seasons now and is just 11 episodes away from hitting the big 300 episode milestone. What gets me is that when I catch it on Adult Swim I swear I always see the same 10 episodes, specifically the one where Roger elbow drops onto a guy's head in over the top gory fashion.

Did American Dad become an amazing show or something? I kind of liked it initially, but I thought of it as just "Political Family Guy" and lost interest after a couple of seasons.

I never would have dreamed that the show would have lasted this long.

Idk about "amazing", but it definitely evolved past just being Political Family Guy after the first couple seasons, and when it was in the middle of its run it was easily the funniest of the Fox animated shows. Roger went from being a character they didn't really know what to do with to basically carrying the whole thing with his different disguises/personas.

Haven't watched it in a while though so idk if it's still good.

Supernatural was set to have ended this past May (or whenever it is that CW airs season finales, I don't get the CW in Canada) but filming of the final few episodes was interrupted by the virus so there's a mini-season coming to wrap it up.

Supernatural longed catered to the incest fujioshi market hence it lasting as long as it did. Heard way too much and in detail about it from their perpective. And I used to believed the Sentinel gay and fujioshi fandom were bad about being out in the open with their pairings.

I recently learned Keeping Up With the Kardashians is still going which blows my mind.

It reminds me of when I learned that Survivor is still going, I would have assumed that would have petered out around the time Fear Factor did, but nope.

It blows my mind to think any reality show could go on for so long, certainly there's got to come a time in which the novelty wears off, right?

Been said here, but Supernatural. Liked it when I was in grade school but the time to end it was after Sam sacrificed himself to seal off hell (if that's what even happened, I can't remember off the top of my head). After that they realized that slash fangirls were the audience they were mostly drawing in rather thatn what I assume was the intended audience of young adult men.

Can't believe it went on as long as it did. Lost interest after season 4 but holy fuck how did they milk 15 seasons out of what was essentially a dramatized version of popular urban legends?

Honorable mention for The Walking Dead. Dropped after Alexandria; checked later to see that they had killed all the main characters.

I stopped watching after season 2, but How To Get Away With Murder having 6 seasons is beyond me. Shows like that need to be kept short, but networks gotta milk shit to death.

It reminds me that Homeland should've been 1 season, and you never know if Brodie goes full Jihadi or not.
