I like to postmark quite a lot. It feels like I'm contributing a public service and making threads more readable for future users because the ratings are unpredictable every 5 pages and most users are lazy, stupid and shit. I just went to the Jack Scalfani thread and he had a soup video that wasn't highlighted a few pages earlier so I sent a postmark request for it.

It's annoying to wait for admin approval and also adds to their workload. I don't really mind it but it seems sometimes they don't agree and don't approve the postmark because they have no clue what they're doing.

With the new moderation system coming where senior (more like Señor) users can report things and have some privs, they should also be able to postmark directly.

Some nigger is going to reply to this and be like "what if someone postmarks every post" and we all know the answer to that problem: they shouldn't have been a senior user in the first place and just ban/remove the privileges.

There should also be a postmarking leaderboard so people can treat it a bit like a game and put effort into it. It'd be nice if you clicked someone's profile and you could see what khantent they have postmarked.

I don't know if there are some other ideas to highlight the work of postmarkers but maybe there is some way to highlight them better to the community and make them proud of improving the readability of large, autistic threads about fat people who are eating themselves to death. Maybe there's some way to show the latest postmarked post on the front page, or show the last 10 postmarked posts or something?

If the most recent postmarked posts it would be a unique non-popularity way for users to see more interesting content instead of just seeing US politics 2 thread permanently in the trending thread list.

Postmarking is the penultimate form of quality control. If busy threads are postmarked well then it makes it so much easier for people to read later on.
It is definitely a showcase of autism but I would strongly argue that it isn't "incoherent" but rather the most coherent form of autism possible - a highly organized and meticulous system to essentially future proof busy and autistic threads for a wider audience.

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe it should require two users? This would mitigate most postmark spam, i.e less work for mods, and ensures that the content is worth postmarking.
