In this situation, should you be sad because someone chose a fictional character over you, or happy because you've just dodged the bullet of the century?

Might be going against the grain, but it's for the best that this person chose to break up; even if their "reason" is as retarded as it gets. The fact that they're saying Avery would "get on the way" of their fantasies should be telling you everything about them. Avery is better off without this Nesbit """emotionally cheating""" on them (term heavily between quotes because I'm not sure how else to put it).

It's the same thing as guys that have crippling gaming addictions, playing games for 12 hours straight and not spending time with their girlfriends unless they're watching them play in silence or something. It takes two to tango, and if you're going to obsess over a fictional character (or IRL celebrities, or anything really) to the point it's going to overshadow your actual relationship and you're going to emotionally/physically neglect your partner then you should NOT be in a relationship to begin with. You're simply not mature enough to be in a relationship, so don't keep them around just because; they deserve way better than you would ever be.​

Funny because they can't just go, "This is super retarded and cringe" and instead have to jump through hoops to bully this autist. This is probably why these women would rather be with a fictional character tbh. These women don't have to get married and they're choosing not to because it doesn't add to their lives in any meaningful way. Isn't it better to live in a time where both men and women don't actually have to marry someone that they barely even like because it's expected of them?
