I got it in PS4 and when I play it I’ll post. Disclaimer: souls fan, autistic weeb, loved Nioh too.
I recommend people to play the Tenchu series of games. From Software wanted this game to be another entry into the series, but saw that too many developers had shaped the series (including themselves) and shifted gears to have it be a different project.

If I loved og Tenchu but really don't care for Dark Souls (more just exhausted by the style) would this appeal to me?

It's sort of in between. The game gives you lots of stealth kill opportunities, but you can't just gank everyone from the shadows. Some enemy placement just doesn't allow it really and unlike Tenchu, stealth kills always seem to alert other enemies if they're too close.

Played a bit today. Been having trouble adjusting to the combat. No dodge rolling through everything anymore. Having to actually pay more attention to how you're being attacked and defend/dodge accordingly is turning out to be pretty difficult.

Armored Core with a Sekiro twist would be interesting. All sorts of gadgets leading to high octane fighting and death from above.

Did not the Switch got a Not!Armored Core that was like that and the weebs were praising it very hard because one of the pilots of the story is voiced by our dear Lord Char Aznable himself ?

I could only play bloodborne in short segments because of how mentally exhausting it was and this is no different. The stealth is cool, and really dark souls should have had it, but you spend a lot of time waiting for enemies to deagro.
There’s more than one currency and death isn’t super punishing, you don’t have to warp back to the hub to level up and buy some supplies, but boy is it still punishing. It doesn’t have that same spoon fed lore Dark Souls has though. Japanese culture games always seem to have a mystical but straight forward setting.
