What's even funnier is that even if I we get to the 22nd tomorrow, nothing's going to happen legally. It's just the due date for the appeals to be submitted. They act like something eventful is going to transpire, when in fact we may not find out anything for days, weeks, even months.

These people (including the lawyers) do not seem to grasp the important substantive difference between active rioters ordered to disperse who nevertheless continue to hurl explosives, molotov cocktails and other non-speech activities. The only reason they aren't just shot down while they stand, as they would have been in meaner times during our history (think the Civil War-era draft riots), is restraint.

A bank robber escaping, heavily armed, from a bank robbery doesn't get "due process" either. That's something that happens when you are apprehended. If you continue on your current course, you quite simply get shot. Then whatever survives that gets tried, and whatever doesn't gets buried.

Acts of terrorism are quite often accompanied by statements of opinion in support of the terrorist cause. That doesn't immunize the terrorism.

So...okay so every cop in the universe just doing their job and wanting to help deserves to die because cops bad, but criminals getting gat the fuck up is too much and suddenly no one can be judge, jury or executioner?
