i really liked this SCP and thevolgun's voice acting added so much to the story
but this would have worked better if the author had cut the containment procedures and wrote it like an after-action report, because the procedures just repeated what was said in the addenda
also the indian man calling the director a racist for killing someone was retarded

The Sommerfield is probably one of my favorite SCPs. Not just because its well written, and it castigates one of the most overused concepts in SCP (the Scranton Anchor), but the world it helps present.

For those who don't know, SCP-3241 is set in the Broken Masquerade universe, one of the many alternate universes in the SCP setting. In this universe, the SCP Foundation is forced to go public with its existence, and the existence of anomalies becomes public knowledge after a screw up by the Foundation leads to the destruction of North Korea. As such, the SCP-3241 is far more about showing how going public has fundamentally changed how the organization operation operates, the dangers that come with that, and how going public has changed how mankind interacts with SCPs.

And here I thought there were no good ones after 1000 but the IKEA store. (That's an exaggeration of course but the wheat to chaff level is abysmally low now.)

My headcanon is that the Ticonderoga classification was created by a bunch of researchers who got drunk on April Fool's Day and decided to play a prank by making it sound so fucking retarded that it would never realistically get used, but then it did.

I remain, even in 2024, astounded that a "thousand" contest winner is, by the author's own submission, a lightly fictionalised piece of autobiography about his anxieties about failure, poor self esteem, and grief over his mother's death.

Many great works of art have included these ingredients but this... this is literally a guy recounting minor disappointments in a pretty sweet life overall with only the narrowest of SCP gloss over it.

The "author community" has wrecked everything good about the initial project. There is a clique of shut-in, depressed trannies who are only writing for each other, and they write more and more convoluted bullshit in the aim of impressing each other. The whole project has long since become an unenjoyable fanwank. Nothing meaningful can be done as the "community" insists on a laughable standard of gatekeeping the newer authors whilst ejaculating weakly over whatever mince [edit: I took out a name for fairness] has shat out and coldposted that week.

It does have the distinction of featuring the most unlikeable, worthless main character of all time in "Faeowynn" Wilson, autistic tranny self-insert, whose SCP "hub" has barely any SCP content but easily ten thousand words of its autistic tranny author's daddy issues pish.
