To be fair to both sides I think it's possible Kelli's unhinged and relentless nagging of younus abdullah muhammad may have contributed to his death. Though legally because she never told him to kill himself. Could be he also died from taking too much cocaine inbetween asking for gvmt grants to grift off incels.

That or a friend or family member killed themselves and they feel to blame for it so project that onto the site.
I like the idea it's available even if I'm probably reserving it for something like a particularly terrible terminal illness.
I would not recommend the sodium nitrite method at all. It is overly complex, time consuming, and deeply unpleasant.
Suicide sites shouldn't have people encouraging minors to kill themselves though, which SS did for years

The site doesn't do that, any more than "Kiwi Farms" does something that some people do. The fact some people would use a site for something that might be illegal some places (or is even outright illegal) doesn't make the site itself illegal.
I think there should be more of an ethos of non-encouragement, as other suicide discussion sites have, but that's my personal opinion, not the law.
I mean, people on Lamarcus' other sites were even publicly encouraging publicly identified minors to move to SS to kill themselves

And it can't be construed to prohibit First Amendment protected activity. Actually directly providing drugs to someone with the intention that they use them to commit suicide can be constitutionally prohibited, but just saying that you can buy sodium nitrite at such and such a website cannot.
To get an actual conviction on something like encouraging or assisting suicide requires something more than just speech in all but the most extreme situations, e.g. Michelle Carter.
lamarcus was providing seller info of bizarre suicide agents so that people could end their lives, on a site specifically dedicated to extralegal suicide facilitation. his and diego's actions have been tied to over 500 individually confirmed deaths. I don't think suicide facilitation is a matter of free speech but hey you do you
of note is that diego is already in legal trouble
he is 100% sure it wouldn't happen and look where we are, he won't even show his face in public anymore

Agreed, I've only seen the 45 figure by NYT (and more recently a 21 figure of people in Britain from the BBC) so this 500 figure coming out of nowhere is very suspicious.
Someone can believe they're psychos and also believe the site shouldn't be taken down, the two beliefs are not contradictory. The quote by Mencken about fighting for freedom being the same as defending scoundrels applies here. It's the same attitude many hold towards this very site.
I think the tell is the emphasis on SS killing minors. Every detractor always pushes that despite the fact that almost no site on the Internet can actually stop minors from lying and going on their site (unless they have intrusive ID verification). For example Tantacrul kept guilt tripping the forum members that they "just let a minor die" despite them having no way of knowing Matteo was a minor.
I give SS more slack than say Discord trannies who groom and sexually abuse people they definitely know are minors. And Discord is still up.

There have been posters who openly stated their age. Much like 4chan does, it would be better to prohibit minors from accessing the site, as toothless as such a prohibition might be. For instance, Kiwi Farms does exactly that.
There also very well be places that actually do criminalize conduct in regards to minors that would not be prohibited in regards to adults.

Yeah btw on the topic of Discord grooming: I feel like if someone is interested in pushing kids into hurting or killing themselves (like many of SS's detractors claim their forum is), they wouldn't do it on some obscure forum that no one's ever heard of - they'd do it on Instagram, or TikTok, or Discord... y'know, where the kids are. Pedophiles that want to prey on children aren't going to sit around on a fetish forum with their thumb in their ass waiting for a kid to stumble by - they go seek kids out and manipulate them into doing what they want. The more I think about this narrative around SS the less I buy it.
