Jacks life sure is shit
I think jack is actually at peace. I think the ladybug and his smile allow him to realize that it was his and ashi's love that allowed the beauty of the world to be once more, and that the world as it is is what ashi would have wanted. Jack was down, but I think he's found a special kind of joy, looking at the world he and ashi made. Best of all, she was there to see it in the end, and jack probably realizes that.
tl;dr Jack has never been better.

I am currently in the Denial Stage of Grief, just thinking about this.

Wouldn't it be great if there was another episode where Jack and Ashi finally be together and Aku is like "jokes, you just destroyed one of me in this timeline!" and everyone is still alive and shit just not Ashi's timeline, so Jack goes to the future again, joins Ashi once more and defeats Aku.

It might be more poetic too, like you can always wish to go back but in the end what you do is irreversible so you need to build forward.
And build with little Jacko-Ashi babies.

Fuck the rest of the episode, Scotsman and his daughters riding into battle was the best and i'll fucking fight anyone who says otherwise

It was a tough sacrifice in the end, but the good of the world has to come first - it is nice to see that Jack realizes that, at least from what I gather of this ending, sad as it was, too.

Fuck yeah - this WAS a good cartoon (not just these 10 episodes, either - they just added to the awesomeness of what's already been with us for so long...), IMHO!

Pretty good overall, but felt like it should have been a half hour special or something.

how long before tumblr gets triggered about the black guy who was onscreen for literally 2 seconds at the end?
Bringing those designs back in the current political climate just for fanservice shows a lot of artisitic integrity imo.

that was a blow in the gut at the end.
Especially the last scene with the tree

Am I the only one who felt a bit bad for Aku? He deserved what he got, for sure, but he was just so damn entertaining!

Spoken for truth - any show that wants to be worth something that ain't derogatory words doesn't just need definitely a good protagonist (which Jack definitely is), it most definitely needs a good villain as well to give said protagonist a drive (which Aku most definitely is!).

However, while Aku was good at this whole venture from the start, I don't feel that he began to really shine until these last 10 episodes, where he got more of a sense of humor to add his personality - something you can't argue he didn't have to begin with, honestly. It just showed so much better here.

great episode

If they haven't started yet, they'll start soon

Also, that finale was definitely final all right. A little bummed the final fight didn't last longer, but I thought it was decent for what it was.

Aku was always like that. He'd be genuinely menacing and evil when actually facing Jack or one of the other good guys, but there was no shortage of comic buffoonery either (see: Aku makes an ass of himself in front of a group of kids because he doesn't know how storytelling/propaganda works).

Shit...

I guess everyone was wiped from existence. Unless they exist in the far future now, only different, save for their births/creations being the result of Aku's influence, right?

But damn, that was a good episode. It felt a little rushed, to be honest, but seeing the ensemble of characters Jack met over the course of his journey come to his aid gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside, even if it seemed a little campy. (The dog being alive after 50 years though? Holy fuck evolution.....)

I was honestly expecting Ashi to live after Jack finally killed Aku, just with how long and drawn out everything was. But when it finally got to the wedding scene I was like, "Yeah, nah, it's gonna happen..." But the final scene with the ladybug and Jack coming to acceptance, it was a real tearjerker. One of my favorite shows from my childhood has finally come to a close. A perfect one, at that.

I thought at first when Jack rode that horse to the middle of nowhere that he was going to try to bring back Aku so he could have Ashi back.

Glad they didn't go in that direction.
